Sooooooo this was my 2nd time here. The service was excellent. The food on the other hand was not. I got Ox tails white rice and the plantain. No seasoning meat was bit chewy as if not cooked well and it was under portioned for $23. Two stars for service only!!!!!
SPOILED FOOD I don’t know who or what going on there but I ordered 4 different meals and the oxtails smelt sour it looks old losing the usual dark brown tint to a more light faded color and the plantain it came where bright yellow looks like it’s been sitting in water over night with zero to nun stove burns I wish I could give zero stars for the audacity of the workers but everything else was below average or tasted OLD just go to spices on the south side or any other Caribbean places you can find because you’ll not be respected here
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We had roti with goat, jerk chicken, beef stew, 2 Jamaican patties (beef and veggie), and rice w/peas. Everything was perfectly cooked, fall off the bone tender. Everyone was kind and the wait was short for a good sized lunch crowd. We will definitely be back.
Yhis is my fifth time here and my 7 time eating ox tail. The food enriching my taste buds.. I love the ox tail. I just wish my diet would allow me to eat this every day. The people who works here are nice and kind.
The food is excellent however they are rarely open on time. The opening hours are at 10 o’clock on Saturday. When I arrived at 11 they were still closed. This is not the first time. They have no consideration for your time or travel. They rarely answer the phone so you don’t know if they are open or not. The staff could be more professional.
Its a hole in the wall, in a unappealing neighborhood, and the drive thru service needs revamping.. BUT THE FOOD!?!! OMG!!! will revisit when I'm back in Jacksonville, We ordered, Cuury goat, Brown Stew chicken, Oxtails, Jerk chicken & patties.. THE PRICE BLOW MIND...
I really like the oxtails!! It could be a little pricey though.. one time I bought a regular tray of oxtails and they were tough I pretty much threw the whole plate away but I after a few months i went back and bought another tray it was way better than that last batch. I also let them know about the visit and how disappointed I was. Ever since my food has been very tasty and fresh !!!
Ok so….it’s been quite a while since I’ve stopped in. Super hungry, wanted veggie patties, just come in off the truck…nah ready yet. I ordered Plaintain instead. They say check the food before leaving. They should say TASTE before leaving. They were horrible a few fresh fried and old fried mixed together, not to mention they taste like old grease. I BIT 3 and they were horrible. I deserve fresh grease at 1:15 p.m….. it’s been 4 years since I visited. I liked it better in late 90’s!!!
Just tried this place. I ordered the regular oxtail plate, the oxtails were so small, I got 4 small bones (two were really tough and had fat wrap on the outer part with really tough meat on the inside). Disappointed. I’m now sitting in a drive through to order food at a different restaurant. The oxtails does have a good taste but I wouldn’t waste my time coming here again. Too pricey for the amount of food you get and staff is not the friendliest (with the exception of one lady we encountered, she was friendly and spoke when we entered, the cashier was not friendly at all).
Food good if they aren't out of what you want! They were out of a lot of things! Enjoyed our oxtail! Service also not so great!
