Yeah, the cakes are good, but the customer service is lacking. While there this afternoon, there wasn't the usual greeting. One the women behind the counter rushed us, acting like it was an assembly line than people out on Saturday providing this place some business. The cashier wasn't friendly either. I've come here plenty of times over the years, but will reconsider. When I spend my hard earned money, I want to be treated with respect.
Went for a visit today to satisfy my houses sweet tooth and was so disappointed ?.We ordered 1 red velvet, I vanilla with sprinkles, 1 cookies and cream and 1 pineapple coconut. Maybe 6-8 months ago they were better as far as incorporating flavor though out the cupcake.The pineapple coconut had zero flavor! Even the cream cheese icing just tasted like straight cream cheese no sugar at all no vanilla flavor even?Red velvet was a hit but the cream cheese icing tasting like cream cheese with nothing else. Maybe they changed the recipe.Cookies and cream was old. The calf cookie on top was so stale it was soft and my crunchy. My son didn’t finish it.Sprinkles- very tight crumb. Not really strong in vanilla. Reminded me of cornbread.$14.There used to be more love in the cupcakes.
I first tried CamiCakes in October 2021 during a self-care event hosted by my teacher organization. It was LOVE at first bite. I quickly found the physical store location and the rest is history. CamiCakes is my go-to place whenever I'm craving something sweet in Jacksonville.
Several months ago, probably even before covid, I would have given Cami Cakes 5 stars. I was addicted to not only the red velvet and sweetheart cupcakes, l was also buying cake slices. I've even purchased several double layer cakes for special occasions. Here lately however, the taste and quality definitely has changed drastically. It's nothing like the old Cami Cakes. My red velvet double layer was dry and the icing tasted horrible. It was such a disappointment. I think l'm done with them for good.
Still my favorite cupcake place of all time…a must visit when going to Jacksonville. They have the best red velvet cupcake I’ve ever had in my life
I was from out of state visiting the city on yesterday and happened to visit CamiCakes cupcakes for my birthday. I picked up four variety cupcakes and didn't eat not one until later that night. When I tell you, the red velvet cupcake was the most fluffy and moisturized cup cake I've ever had, I am telling you just that! Not a crumb was left from That One Cupcake. I had to sit and savor each bite after each bite. Also, the establishment was clean and the staff/owner was personable and friendly! Very knowledgeable about their specialty!
I have cami cakes once a year or every other year for my birthday. My daughter bought me some yesterday and they were completely different. The cake was delicious but the icing was vastly different. The icing was bland. In previous years it tasted like it had buttermilk i it and was out of the world. Maybe Cami Cakes was purchased by someone else?
A friend surprised me with these for my birthday. So glad she introduced me! These were some life changing cupcakes (yes I know that's a bit dramatic but there are many bad cupcakes out there). Each cupcake is thematic to the fullest -- the banana pudding ACTUALLY tastes like banana pudding, the Chantilly has the cake and frosting texture and taste of Chantilly cake, and idk if it's pineapple upside down cake or a caramel apple theme but it's actually sour and sweet like it's supposed to be. 10/10 recommend.
A local gem in Jacksonville, excellent cupcakes and very (pardon the pun) sweet staff! They have a great selection, be sure to try the cookie butter.
First off customer service is great considering they are short staffed. However I am not a fan of the change in the frosting. My go to has always been key lime with the buttercream key lime frosting. The current one has cream cheese frosting but it is more like a marshmallow texture. I have contacted the corporate office before with no response . Not a big deal but I won't be back :(
