Been going to this Bono for years and honestly the food quality was actually sliding downhill slightly. Baked beans had been watery, pork was very fatty. This last visit the food had improved quite a bit. The only downside is the significantly increased prices. Four years ago they had the family feast which included one pound of meat and was $26.99. Now they offer the BBQ Feast which has an added bbq chicken but cost $44.99. Would rather they still offered the family feast.
Ordered for delivery, which was fine. It was delivered hot and on time. The order was incorrect, however. We ordered the 3 meat platter and instead of the ribs we ordered, we received the driest piece of chicken I've ever had. It was practically inedible. The other meat was hit or miss with some of it also being pretty dry. The sides were good. Also didn't receive the correct sauces to go with the meal. Overall wouldn't order it again.
My oldest son came from NY to visit and we stopped at this location for the family to have some good southern bbq. Everything was good in the beginning, great waitress, but there were more than 3 strikes for me. 1. My daughters chicken had hair in it. Not hers. 2. The bathroom was so smelly like old urine. 3. The kids meal was taken off our ticket and the waitress brought my daughter some banana pudding but she has lost her appetite. As I signed the ticket my kids let out screams and went running. There was a mammoth cockroach crawling on the wall behind them. Game over - $80 to wanna throw it up later
I hadn't been frequenting this location the last couple days... but tonight 3/15 was HORRIBLE. My fries were nearly black from OLD OIL, my "GARLIC BREAD" was stale and not butterd... and lastly my pulled pork was SUPER DRY! I called and talk to MYa about my fries that not even my toddler would eat and hadn't yet tasted my DRY sandwich... I'm very DISAPPOINTED in our dinner tonight, but it only takes ONE TIME to mess up my food so I will NOT be returning.
We ordered a 6 piece wing combo and 10 wings tonight, and the wings are extremely dry. Definitely not the quality I would expect from Bono's. The side of mac and cheese was just ok.
Me and my husband were craving BBQ. Unfortunately for us, there isn’t much around. I ordered pickup through Bono’s website—Turkey Salad and a 2 meat combo with ribs and pulled pork and a side garlic bread (3 pieces). It said it would be ready in 15 minutes and that is about how far we are so my husband left the house almost immediately. Picked it right up (definitely his fault he didn’t check the bags before leaving, but that’s men). His entire plate of food was cold when he got home. He received zero pulled pork. He had 5 ribs total, 3 were babies and super dry. The other two were good. Collard greens were good. My salad was nothing special and the ranch was gross (tastes like they buy it now, I used to love their ranch). He also only received two pieces of bread instead of three.I called the restaurant to let them know about the pork and missing bread. Marie answered the phone and seemed immediately frustrated. I guess there pickup orders aren’t going through correctly when ordered online. However, that is never the customers fault. Shut your online pickup orders off then. We sat on hold for a while for her to get a manager because they couldn’t even pull up the order. She came back and had pulled the order up. Said they gave us a large rib dinner instead and that she couldn’t give us a refund but that we could drive all the way back for some pork. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.The restaurant experience these days are not the same. Most are short staffed and I’m sure it is so hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. However, customer service is key. Offering us even a $5 coupon or something would have been suffice. To be honest, we deserved a small refund even if it was for the garlic bread that was MISSING. Overall, management needs to step up. Fix the pickup orders online or remove it so you don’t keep going through this. And, if your servers/staff can’t learn how to communicate with customers then management needs to take over that as well.
Excellent customer service at the bar. Food was so juicy and tender. I had BBQ chicken, bake beans & coleslaw. A favorite location of mines for 8 years!
Bonos is simply amazing and if you live or even been to Jacksonville and haven't tried bonos stop reading this right now and go getchu some bonos, your mouth and your stomach will be not only thanking but yelling in excitement for the amazing smokehouse BBQ you just supplied it, now for all my people who know the heavenly BBQ that is bonos what more is there to say really, bonos is an indescribable place, a place truly stuck in the past and filled to the brim with BBQ and good ol people looking to enjoy a meal or serve you up one
So we ordered the 2 meat combo with ribs and sliced brisket. You get 2 rib bones then the cook sent out some dried up brisket, we told our wonderful waitress and she brought us fresh brisket. You can see the difference in the pictures. Fries were good and hot, the Mac wasn't all that. My husband got sweet potato (good) and baked beans (ok). The toast was not the freshest but ok. Waitress was friendly and understanding. So if you think something isn't right let them know.
