Heard a lot of goods things about this place so I had to try it. They have one of kind subs and they are huge. I would suggest getting one and sharing bc the portions are huge. They are always packed and the parking is limited so if you don't plan on dining in I would call ahead. Old style seating area. The food is served hot and fresh. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch-fried and #8 philly cheesesteak. The philly was seasoned to perfection. The bread has to be made fresh daily it was so soft. And the sweet tea is a must try.
I've been coming here since I was 8 years old and have NEVER been disappointed. It's a Jacksonville tradition and the first place I go when I come back to my home town!! I always have a pizza burger sub. It's seen me through 2 kids, 2 wars, and 3 divorces!! Blue Boys is my place!!
I wanted to try the best seller. All I got was bread chopped steak and onions. I added a large drink. The bill was $17.15. The first time I came I got a cold sandwich turkey and ham cheese lettuce tomato onion Mayo and mustard. It was wonderful. I say avoid the steak anything.
Been going here for 45 years and loved the food . I would go out of my way to drive to this shop .The bread that was made was outstanding ! New buyer who is trying , but he has changed the recipe for the bread and sandwich's . I never had a problem paying the price it was worth it , but's it's just not the same . Wish you luck , but I'm done . Thanks for 45 years .
Best sub place in Jacksonville with monster burgers ? ? ???
Been eating here for many many years, yesterday (1-I1-21) ordered a large submarine samich, the price jumped up 15$ and the bread was horrible and dry dry . Sad sad , and new faces inside then today I heard it was sold and been declining. Don’t mind the increase in cost of samich but the quality Also is terrible.
There bread is good and they vegetables are fresh. They use partical lunch meat on there turkey sub as well as only american cheese. I would not recommend there turkey sub.
This is a solid sandwich shop. The sandwiches are good but still could use some improvement. They are massive, like two subs in one. I'd personally would take half the portion and focus a bit more on the flavor. Again, it's great for a lot of food but everything is so piled on that it takes away from the diverse taste of ingredients.
I'm so happy one of these is still around. I thought when the Arlington location closed that Blue Boys was gone.Nope! Same great food and they were friendly as can be!
I definitely would like to say that this is a good restaurant. I will definitely be returning to this location again. I think the customer service was great and the people was knowledgeable on the business. I have to point out one issue that I had. As a Google reviewer and a person that's specific about their food. I realized that their food inspection health score wasn't posted. When I asked about it, it was never told to me directly not even by the owner. As a customer that should be posted for everyone to see. That's the only reason why I didn't give this place a 5 star.
