Upscaled (expensive) oriental (Chinese) dining in a clean (new feel) location. Very good (polite & efficient) service! Food (presentation & taste) was excellent. Our lunch bill + tip, for two, exceeded $85.00 (even though we did not order alcoholic or other beverages). Dinner menu featured much more expensive items. Despite expense, I would recommend this place!
I wrote to the owner about our negative evening in his restaurant. I could not enjoy my meal at all. The people at the next table laid their 4 yr old child on the table with her hair hanging over the table. It was not a pleasant dining experience for around $130,I have eaten there many times . I will never return.I received a short note back from the owner saying so sorry I wasn’t able to walk around and check the dining room that night. It sounded like he wasn’t there.Such an empty uncaring reply. We can enjoy many restaurants for $130. I will never be back due to his tasteless reply.
First off, the building is beautiful. It's a little unassuming from the road....until you're right up on it and see the detail. Second the food and staff were absolutely amazing. The duck crisps and the spare ribs were absolutely out of this world. An awesome blend of new and old schools mesh well. The staff k ows what's up as well as the chef who created the menu and runs this establishment. Kudos my friends. I will be back for sure!!!!
First time at this new location. Spacious layout with relaxing ambiance perfect for cocktails after a busy week. Right when you walk in, to your right will be the bar area and to your left will be the dining area. Happy hour is from 5-6PM and is only available at the bar area.We forwent Happy Hour and seated in their dining area. Authentic Cantonese! For starters, we had their classic Hot and Sour soup. Nice balance especially for the cold weather. For the main entrees, we ordered the Sichuan Beef Stir Fry and Cantonese Shrimp Lomein. I can tell the authenticity of these dishes by the taste and smell alone. They were flavorful and the beef was tender. For dessert, we finished our meal with a slice of Banana Cake. Not too sweet just the way we like it. Great service too!
My friend and I go maybe once a month. The food is great. The space is big so you don't have to worry about sitting too close to someone else. We also love the chocolate-every time we dine each of us buys some. Dennis the owner is so sweet. I love the touch of ice cubes made of iced tea.
Good location, nice decor, average taste, $$$$I had an opportunity to stop in mid-week for lunch. It is a really nice looking building, and I was hoping the food would match the decor. The menu was a little limited, but it doesn't matter if what they have is really good. As I look over the menu I'm thinking to myself that they are focusing on what they do best. I didn't see anything that really looked original, so I went with what the server said was a favorite. I ordered the Hunan bowl with chicken. It was about average price for a lunch entree at around $16. At this price I'm expecting it to be a notch or two above typical takeout, but unfortunately it was like any other strip-mall offering. I also ordered a hot tea as my beverage. I was a little surprised that the was another $5 on top of my $16 stir-fry bowl. If you're doing that math, that's about $22 for lunch and then add another 20% for tip. Again, if this was amazing fare, then I could understand. I had looked at the other side of the menu that had "all day" entrees, but those were at least another $10 to $15 each and no way I was spending $30 for a lunch entree. Again, this is based on one visit, so maybe they have a to-die-for something on the menu that I should have ordered, but no way this is going to make it into the regular lunch rotation. It seems like most of the other reviews are positive. At some point I may give them another try, but my expectations are pretty high for a $30ish lunch.
I was visiting Jacksonville and stumbled upon this place. What a great find! The food was delicious! Fresh and perfectly cooked. Ribs were juicy and had a nice char taste. Pan fried noodles and the lo mein were like New York Chinatown! The fried zucchini sticks were so good! Light and crispy and not oily! The bartender Holly made the best cocktails! The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was so nice and accommodating to my food requests. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Jacksonville Florida. We tried other places in Jacksonville on our vacation and this was our favorite!!!!
Losey food ....Not what we were expecting for asian cusine. Food was served cold and the service was not all that.
Food was amazing! We felt service was rushed. The restaurant was not at capacity. Also voiced this concern to the server. She was apologetic, but continued to rush us. We decided to take desert home and sit there while enjoying each other's company and the beauty of your new restaurant. I will definitely come back, but will ask for a different server.
My only regret: not sticking to my original plan of ordering noodles and steamed dumplings for myself. My dumpling sampler of shumai, spring rolls, and rangoon was devoured in seconds, and so was my shrimp entree.I’ll be back again next weekend for the beef noodles and steamed dumplings.Sidenote: the fried rice entree was massive and the Szechuan chicken was SUPER flavorful.
