Rudy was awesome! Started off with fried gator tail with house made sauce, which was amazing. Long island and the blackberry vodka drinks were tasty as well. Definitely go for blackened mahi over broiled. Salmon and trigger were to die for as well. Creamy potatoes and bacon collards were perfect sides. A chocolate martini finished off the night. We'll be back!
I’ve been eating here for 55 years. I like what the new owners have done but waiting 75 minutes for some fried chicken is ridiculous! Our waiter did the best he could, it wasn’t his fault; but, maybe a free appetizer while we continued to wait. We ended up ordering one. Friend at the table finally asked to speak to the manager. She just blah blahed some apologies and said she make it right on our check Got the check, for 6 people, and all she did was remove the appetizer we ended up ordering, 10$ ? We informed her that we weren’t at all satisfied w her cheap discount and ended up getting an additional 20$ removed Shame! Food is still good but, at this rate, with such poor management,I don’t see it making it for long Hate seeing an icon in Jax sinking
Lunch was fabulous. The place is nicely decorated and is fish house chic. Great place to bring the family for a great meal. So many selections of seafood and chicken. We enjoyed fish on this visit and oysters. Would definitely visit again.
We’ve been going to this place several times a year for special family occasions for 50+ years. Sad to say that today was our first ever bad experience! The food was as good as always-no complaints in that regard (although we miss a few of the classic items that were dropped from the menu by the new owners) The problem was that we sat down at 3pm and promptly ordered five chicken dinners. The dining room was only half full at the time with one large table of customers just finishing their meals. It then took 1 hour and 15 min before we were served even though our waiter came out three times during our unconscionable wait to tell us that the “our food would be ready real soon” When I asked to speak to the manager she made a half hearted excuse that they had had a large number of carry out chicken orders that caused the long delay. Her apology seemed less than sincere to me but she said she would offer some “compensation” on our check. I was pleased with her decision until our $160 check arrived with only a $10 discount-not even the price of the smallest chicken dinners! When I then told the waiter that I wanted to see the manager again she did not return to speak to me. She simply sent the waiter back to say that she had reduced the bill by an additional $20. Before I retired I ran a chain of 150 stores. I would have fired a store manager who did such a terrible job of customer service! We drive an hour each way to celebrate family events here-but I won’t be back anytime soon.
I will tell you that the Grouper Tacos are the best I have ever eaten anywhere. I have eaten Tacos from Cobo,Key West & California these kick BUTT

We both had platters which were amazing. Mine had baked grouper and my husband had fried fish. Our waitress, Kaitlin was amazing. She took great care of us. Try all you can eat shrimp on Tuesday nites!

Brought home take out for a fun birthday meal. The chicken is crispy and delicious and juicy and reminds me of what south should taste like in your mouth. Biscuits were a total hit, tall and flaky and ready for buttering up. Tried the deviled eggs and they were superb with a special Beach Road twist. Next time I’m trying some seafood.
I am from out of town and was looking forward to having some real , good seafood. The waitress was very nice and attentive so no issues with the service. My brother in law had chicken and enjoyed it, but the brown gravy was out of place and not the older white, chicken gravy. My sister's fish wasn't cooked and was soggy. The seafood platter ordered by another was fine, but the stuffed crab wasn't' very tasty. My meal was fine. The friend shrimp were very good, but the grouper was so so. For the price, I am not sure i would return. I think there are other better seafood restaurants in the area.
