Greens perfectly seasoned, oxtail to die for, soft, warm cornbread, seafood dressing that makes me wish I lived nearby. Generous portions, reasonably priced. No truck parking nearby but the bobtail squeezed in the parking lot okay. Will DEFINITELY be back.
I went with my family after rave reviews by some friends...I ordered the fried pork chops mac and cheese and yams....I don't like bashing companies trying to survive, especially mom and pop shops but I will say presentation is on point but none of it made me want to ever come back. There was a steady stream of customers so they are clearly doing something right for some but it's just not for me and mine. Good luck though...
We picked this place because the overall rating; HOWEVER, I wish I could turn back time! 1. The greens were full of stems. 2. I love Mac and cheese but this is NOT southern style nothing! It tastes like the wrong cheese was used and had raw egg after taste?! 3. I wouldn’t recommend this place to nobody. I was sooo disappointed. Somebody lying on these reviews or there taste buds are messed up??♀️. 4. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is for look of the plate.
I wasn't over the hill excited as a friend recommended this place. If your not familiar with Jacksonville you will pass it because its located inside a shopping area, so I had to circle around the neighborhood. Food was okay, fried pork chops were cooked so longer wait. There lemonade was too sweet, diabetic sweet!
I personally have never eaten at Annie Ru's but my friend always goes there after church to buy peach cobbler for her boyfriend. And it is always packed! The line always runs out the door. The staff is extremely friendly and that makes me want to come back and eat some peach cobbler someday!, ?
My Daughter and I googled black owned restaurants and popped up Annie Ru's OMG. If you haven't been you need to go great customer service friendly staff Ms. Annie's son suggested we try the bread pudding for the first time and it was an experience it had me doing a little dance it a toe wiggler ? I will be returning. I had chitterlings mac and cheese and green beans my daughter had the pork chops mac and cheese and green beans the house drinks was delicious.
Mrs. Annie Ru and her team are truley amazing! Mrs. Annie Ru recently catered the Dinner for a family member "Baby Shower". She quickly responded to my phone calls and my text with no delays.She's a very sweet and beautiful lady !! All of the food was extremely delicious, the fried chicken was perfectly seasoned with a good crunch! The macaroni and cheese was good and cheesey! I can go on and on! This place is soooooo great! Very nice people, the best food. Very fresh, very good. If u like soul, country cooking, u can't go wrong with this place. Love it!
Great customer service. Felt like I was at a family member’s house. The food was not good. I spit the greens out. The Mac n cheese was watered down. The smothered pork chops were good, I guess. The yams were ok. Most likely won’t eat here again.
I ate here for the first time today. And it was delicious! If your looking for a great southern meal. Go check them out. There corn bread was Awesome!
