First of all, they close at 8pm which seems unusually early, so keep that in mind. This is a cafeteria style restaurant. Order at the counter, get your own drinks from the soda fountain and seat yourself. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food is delivered to your table. Menu is good - great selection of meats. The BBQ was delicious and the sides were great too. Food arrived quickly. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.
This was our first stop in Jacksonville and it did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the place was very clean and the food was delicious. We got a pulled chicken platter with grits, green beans and Mac and Cheese and all of it was delicious. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. One of the girls even came over and let my daughter pick out toys from a toy box before we left. Best service and food we’ve had since making our road trip down south!
5/5 amazing establishment. Had overwhelming selection of meats and custom combinations in which you’d like them with choice of sides. Also tons of other choices. I personally had the “Mac Attack” which was only $10 for a HUGE serving of an interesting mixture of mac and cheese, chicken tenders, French fries, and different sauces. (AMAZING!!). Also employees seemed genuinely happy to be there and glad to help us through the menu. The service was fast and there’s a huge indoor and outdoor selection of seating, all with good vibes.
Was impressed with this BBQ smokehouse. Staff got us ordered quickly and gave us a couple of samples. The Brisket and pork ribs were delicious. Meat was tender. Brisket was real juicy, ribs Perfectly seasoned. Sides of macaroni n cheese and vegetables were good as well. Moderately priced.
Best brisket I've ever had! The prices are reasonable and everything was delicious. I had the 2x2 and chose brisket. pulled chicken, collards and sweet potatoes. The only little tiny thing is it may be too fast because it sat for a minute while I waited in line to pay but it wasn't cold. It's a cafeteria setting where you walk thru and pick what you want. I sat outside and it was pleasant. No servers.
I’m from Kansas City, so I have a pretty high standard when it comes to BBQ. Although the food was pretty good compared to the other BBQ places in Jax, we will not order from here again. We order through Door Dash and couldn’t believe the tiny portion size. For spending almost $50 on food, you would think you would get a decent amount of food. It was just my husband and I, and we still had to go get fast food right after because we were still hungry. We order burnt ends, brisket (which was extremely fatty), smoked turkey, pulled pork, and sides (coleslaw, beans, Mac and cheese, and French fries). We got less than the palm of your hand servings of the meats (2 little mini to go boxes that you would normally serve side dishes in, that weren’t even 1/2 full), and the sides were in the little tiny condiment to go containers. Honestly, my toddler eats bigger portions than what we got. Really disappointing, because for the most part, the food was some of the best BBQ we have tried since moving to the south. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the taste. But definitely not worth the money and will not be going back.
I'm definitely going to try dining in sometime because I love BBQ buttttt our take out order we were so excited to devour was AWFUL! We ordered quite a bit to have leftovers for when we get off work. The tea was soured, the greens are definitely from a can and not very good...None of the sides or sauces are actually good. The BBQ ribs, pulled pork and sausage were good.
This was my first time here and the ribs are d delicious and I didn't have to use any barbecue sauce.
Dinner or lunch are great choices at 4 Rivers. We both chose their long aged brisket- but there are choices still. You can have lean, moist (pretty fatty) or a mix of lean and moist brisket. We ordered a moist and a half mix sandwich and were both extremely happy with our choice. Serving sizes are generous and I only ate half of my sandwich due to sampling both corn and bean sides. The corn is extra sweet with a tad of spicy. We realized what a great deal 4 Rivers was when we stopped at a Buc-ee's the next day for their renown brisket sandwich. Priced very similar to 4 Rivers, but less meat, no seating and the place was a "human zoo". Easy future choice!
DH comes here for the Cheerwine and I agree because of the smoked jalapeños. I always find something I like, though, and he enjoys his meal. The bread pudding is delicious.
