We had a private Catering event manager by 1928 crew. It was outstanding!!!! The food, decore, the ladies who helped out were incredible!!! Can’t recommend them high enough. Thank you!!!
I stopped in for quick lunch and ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was good. They seemed pretty busy, and it looked like returning customers. I'm guessing they have some excellent entrees, so maybe I will give them another try one of these days. My sandwich was good, but next time I'll be looking for great!
Went to 1928 Cuban Bistro today for lunch with wife. I’m from Miami and this place is as authentic as any place in Miami. The congri and plantains were amazing. Everything was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The Cuban coffee was perfection. Prices are reasonable. The service was five star as well. I give it five stars across the board and do not give many places five stars. My wife and I will definitely be back. Thanks 1928 for doing it right!
Staff is friendly food is great and its nice to find a place here in Jacksonville that has Caribbean style food Especially Cuban Caribbean Style food . some are a bit different than what I am Use to being that i am Cuban but none the less it is still wonderful and I actually wouldn't change it at all. As a matter of fact I wish they had more on their menu and wish they were closer to me. They Brought a Piece Of Miami Back to me When I found them!!! Definitely a place that would be in Wynwood in Miami or on the beach or in cutler bay with all my new age Cubans :)
Our sandwiches and empanada were delicious! The only problem is that you walk out of there with a strong food smell in your cloth ?? (that's why I'm giving 4/5). The food smell it's super strong like they don't have a good filter ventilation system.
My family likes to support family owned business so we went out for Cuban food today only to be insulted and treated like trash. We spent over $32 with tip for a cup of water-no ice that cost $2 and a can of coke but they did not have cans... We ordered and the girl misunderstood and missed the chiros. Totally fine, It happens! But the girl with the over done eyelashes and smug attitude make a case out of it. We said no biggie but they made them anyway, when the girl tried to get our attention, the eyelash girl made it very clear that she would rather throw the food away than give it to us. That is okay too! But the way in which we were treated caused us not to buy another cuban sandwich $12, see pic of text with my son. We will NEVER GO BACK. She knew she had offended us but told the other workers to ignore us. Wow! Keep in mind we paid $2 for a room temp cup of water and $3 tip that is almost self-service. That was her win! She got her way. Bravo! Newsflash-it was not about the chiros, it was about the petty behavior. We also were repeat customers, it was our second time in.
The food here is so good! I have ordered almost half of the items on this menu and I have enjoyed every item!
My husband and I went for the first time for lunch and the chicken with white rice and plantains were phenomenal. So much flavor in the chicken!! It was seriously so delicious. Highly recommend!
Hands down the best coffee I have ever had!!
Pretty authentic tasting Cuban food at decent prices. We had a couple of appetizers and soup and sandwiches on our visit. The chicken soup was amazing and reminded me of some great Cuban restaurants in Miami and the islands. The sandwiches were good, not great, the portions were decent but meat was a little dry. For appetizers we had the yucca fries and ham croquettes, both were amazing.Dessert was a very good Flan, authentic and homemade, worth the trip in itself.Definitely worth a try and can’t wait for the new location in Saint Johns to open!
