Went there for lunch yesterday. Made the waitress VERY aware that my wife fas a severe gluten allergy. She brought the nachos guacamole salsa and we are them. She returned 10 mins later and said she made a mistake and that the nachos were NOT gluten free. When I showed shock at hermistake, she said” it’s only gluten” My wife had a very rough night because of the gluten Her frivolity was disappointing
Excellent!This is a must try here in Jacksonville! We had such a great time here. The hosts were all happy and welcoming. The allowed me to walk around the restaurant if I wanted to take pictures while we waited for our table. The restaurant decoration was fantastic, inside and out, great attention to detail trying to recreate a Mexican culture!The offer FREE Valet Parking which is awesome. But there is also plenty of parking around. We were here on a Thursday night, around 6:30 pm. Obviously not too crowded, they say that it gets really busy on the weekends starting on Friday afternoon for happy hour!They also have a full bar, so many drinks, so many options. The atmosphere was perfect. People are here to enjoy and to have a good time. They have seating inside and outside, and they have heaters if you get chilly outside.Our waiter was Malachi, he was such a great guy, very helpful, talkative, friendly and quick. Great recommendations, superb service!And the food… it was so good! I wish I had a bigger stomach lol. The carne asada tacos were delicious, the street corn bowl was tasty, our drinks were refreshing. Everything was up to part! High quality food!We’ll have to come back before flying back to California.
We recommend everything at TacoLu. We live in Virginia and will never drive to Florida without stopping at TacoLu. The Mexican street corn is awesome and the tacos are delicious!! Not to mention some of the best Salsa we have ever had!!! The margaritas aren’t bad either!! Give it a try! You won’t be disappointed!!!!

We had a great time & great food here! We ordered the tacos and they were delicious! The staff was also extremely accommodating as we had someone who has a life-threatening food allergy to diary in the party. Will definitely be coming back!
I’m a Jax native but have lived in Dallas for a while now. We have the best Mexican & Tex Mex food in Texas. Obviously because Tex Mex was created in Texas. However, I always crave TacoLu’s Baja style tacos and food when we’re in town every month. I haven’t found anywhere that does the Carne Royale Tacos or comes close. They’re my favorite and the flavors work so well together. I wish there was more room at Bar and a bit easier to order drinks while waiting sometimes up to an hour for a table. We’ve been coming to Lu since it opened and the bar staff isn’t the most friendly on certain days. Some days they’re great. The hosts/ hostesses/ waitstaff are always amazing. I didn’t want to take off a star for the bar staff on this visit which was a Sunday early afternoon, but I wish they were consistently nice. As business owners in Jax & Dallas I know it’s hard to find the perfect team and you can’t teach personality. We also bring our employees here for drinks and food to treat them. The Tamarind and Jalapeño Margaritas are always amazing! Our go to tacos are the Carne Royal & the $10 taco. We’ve had all the tacos on the menu but those two never disappoint. Our sever Malakai was definitely one of the nicest servers we’ve had in a long time!
Fun ambiance, casual taco restaurant. Not too spicy, salmon taco is a must have! Ask for gluten free options, including chips.
This place was the best.. as tequila lovers we had a blast. Codi and Benny were great at suggesting new tequilas for is to try.. and the food was great. I wish I had known about this place a day sooner! It's gets busy very fast so get here early. We like to sit at the bar and by 11 the bar was packed
Livley & fun food. Fabulous sangria with fresh fruit. I would call this street Mexican. The salsa has some nice heat! Had the Suizas enchilada with Mexican street corn. Love the corn, coming from Cali it reminds me of real mexican street corn from Watsonville, fire roasted with lime, crema & cotija. Just the way it should be. Very tasty & tender chicken in the enchilada, could have used some more tomatillo sauce on it, asked for more. Very friendly & prompt service.
