I spent $29 on 2 sushi rolls and a kani salad. i ate half of one roll and 2 pieces of the other and 2 bites of the salad. What a huge disappointment! The Kani roll only had cream and cheese crab salad. The monster roll had a thick slice of some type fried fish on top. The Kani salad was disgusting. It was all cucumbers (approx 1.5 cups) and approx 1/4 cup of crab meat, no spices sauce but whatever the sweet sauce is they have on some of their rolls. Not at all what the menu said for these. I won’t be back.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!???Not only were they incredibly rude when they didn't receive a tip, but their food is subpar and, as others have said, still smells rotten.Regarding the tip issue, they tried forcing me to pay a tip. I didn't mind leaving $5 after the fisco just to be nice anyways, but if they are adamant on forcing a tip ..increase salaries or increase food price. They were disgustingly rude about it.I would avoid this place. I am a generous person and didn't feel the need to leave a tip because service wasn't great as is, but add onto it the disgusting entitlement and not so good food and you have a recipe for disaster.
Me and my business partner typically eat sushi or hibachi once a week, and decided to try this place out and I must say, the restaurant appeared very clean compared to alot of other places, however if you want to be judged or spoken to differently because of your work attire. This is the place for you. My server didn't appear to have an issue speaking to customers at the other tables simple small talk like saying hello, hows your day and being attentive making sure they had everything they needed, like a good server should, but we had a completely different experience. First off all she said to us was asking about a order and what kind of drink we would like. Didn't even great us with a hello or even check on us what so ever during the dining experience. It all started when I asked for a dynamite roll and a bowl of fried rice. Then she asked me if I would like any meat in the rice and I was surprised and said sure add some steak. I didn't mind paying a few more dollars. When the food arrived I was served a huge plate of fried rice that was three times the price of a bowl of fried rice which states $2 on the menu. Instead it was $13 for the plate of rice which was never brought to my attention prior to ordering and when I asked about it she said that's what I ordered which I did not. She had an issue when I said I didn't want it. Then somehow a fried dynamite roll took over 15 minutes to get when their were only three other tables. I didn't receive my food until my friend who ordered the hibachi lunch was finished with his food. What a terrible place. Terrible food and service. I like spending money on food, but will not go back to this place. Youre better off going to Kaiba Japanese Steak house down the road. They will actually pre buss your tables aswell.
ALWAYS ASK FOR ALL INCLUDED SIDES!!!!The food is good and fresh and I love their Sushi/Sashimi Combo, but they have a shady policy where if the customer doesn't EXPLICITLY ask for their sides, example; rice, soup, salad, (that is included in the price you pay for the food) they wont give it to you. and then when you notice it's missing, they blame you for not asking for it. Pretty sketchy. They should look for another way to save a few bucks instead of stiffing the customer.
Got takeout from here since it's takeout only. I ordered Yellowtail nigiri, and two pieces of Salmon sashimi. My partner had the Katsu chicken hibachi with clear soup, steamed white rice, and ginger salad. However, the sauce that came with the Katsu Chicken tasted like straight BBQ sauce. We used the sauce because the chicken was SUPER dry. But everything else tasted really good. The tails were super easy to take off the tempura shrimp that was in the black dragon roll. The rolls stayed together because the jasmine rice was really sticky, which I enjoy. Less likely to have a piece of the roll come undone. I would definitely try to eat here in the future and hopefully they open up after the pandemic calms down since it was takeout only. It was located in a plaza with Target, Books-A-Millions, and other various stores. Right off the exit too.
This is the best sushi place in Jacksonville, period. The sushi lunch is more than filling and the fish is incredibly fresh. Love it.
Being from Hawaii my standards for sushi are very high, and this place consistently hits the mark every time!
We’ve been going to this small, and humble sushi restaurant for 8 or more years. Never disappoints
Good food
Tried this place out for the first time. Ordered a few sushi rolls, gyoza, and the scallop hibachi. The scallops were so old and STANK so bad. I tried one and it was gritty- almost like it was filled with sand. Decided to toss them because I was concerned I would get sick. The noodles were overcooked, soup was missing completely, and gyoza was impossible to eat because they were already falling apart in the container. Sushi was mediocre, But really the only edible thing I ordered.
