Decent enough food. Long wait but thats to be expected. Cook is a little gruff but we all have bad days. Open kitchen counter dining at its best.
Yesterday, my wife and I drove to Jacksonville, so I could do my TSA PreCheck interview (1 hour and 37 minutes away). Since I love cheesesteaks, I googled 'best cheesesteak Jacksonville', and I saw the rave reviews for Surfwiches. And, let me tell you... Their cheesesteaks are absolutely amazing - probably one of the best I have ever had in my life. And, my amazing wife (I definitely married up) ordered their patty melt, because I couldn't decide which to order. And, oh my god... Their patty melt was soooooooo amazing too. I'm so glad we came here. The food was amazing, the staff were super friendly and the restaurant was kept nice and clean. But, don't let the outside fool you. This place is a hidden gem. This place is definitely worth the drive. This place took me 43 minutes out of my way, but it was so worth it. Going forward, anytime I'm in the Jacksonville area, I will definitely come back here, and I don't care how far it takes me out of my way. You definitely have to try this place. You definitely won't be disappointed.
I moved and haven’t been here in months. I’ve tried numerous place trying to find a good cheesesteak. I haven’t. I’m extremely picky with food as well. Most places in Jacksonville are basic. This place is good. I wish I lived closer. I miss coming here but hope to eat here soon. There’s so many neg reviews that aren’t even based on the food. The review below me in the newest section is one of them. SMH

This is a freaking awesome place !! It's been a while since I've had a proper sandwich!! If you are looking to be full and smell like steaks burgers and hot dogs this is the place .. everything made.fresh!!!
My husband and I both had the cheese steak and we both loved it. The rolls aren't too bread-y, they just hold all the meat and cheese in. Perfect. The gal at the store was new and had a hard time, but the food was great. Definitely will be back.
Food is great, but don't wear a mask in an attempt to protect yourself and others. He all but ran me out of the store. Highly disrespectful to a paying customer.
Excellent service and clean restaurant and food prep area. Food is very good. I highly recommend the steak and cheese sandwich. It's the best in Jax. Too bad they have such short hours. I rarely get to get there for lunch and they close at 4.
I ordered a sandwich for my husband and two soft drinks which I paid for and left a tip online. When I showed up my order was on the counter with a ticket that had my name and receipt on it but not the drinks. A guy who seems like he may have been the manager told me yes no problem and to go ahead a get them from the fridge. The female who was working cast what felt like a suspicious eye on me then grabbed the sandwich from my hand to read the receipt as if she wasn’t sure that I had paid for the drinks. Super rude and uncomfortable feeling. Has someone stolen a drink from her before? You don’t know me, don’t pull something from my hand.
Hands down the best Philly cheese steaks! Omg!! I drive bout 13 miles just to get the best! Friendly service too! I will always be back for more! Keep up the awesome work!
