Ordered the chicken salad with the intent to avoid some carbs and got the suggestion to try it Philly style - shredded with cheese mixed in. Our server asked if I wanted black olives, which I personally don't enjoy, but I asked for them on the side so my lunch companion could enjoy them. Was very disappointed with the chicken. I'm not sure if it was just the addition of the cheese, or the way it was seasoned, but way too salty. To top that off, the olives came on the salad. To the staff's credit, there was a generous serving, but it was several minutes spent clearing them off. I ended up leaving half the salad unfinished and when the server asked, I told her that I was rather disappointed in the food. My wife (who grew up in Eastern PA) was also unimpressed with her Philly Hoagie style. Normally I would expect at least an offer of some reduction in the bill or some complimentary desert or such, but none was forthcoming. We WILL NOT be back. EDIT: I wish to acknowledge that the management did reach out following the posting of my initial review in an attempt to provide a better overall experience. As such, I've amended the review and added a star. We have chosen not to accept that offer since this has never been an attempt to solicit free food. I encourage them to work with their team regarding recognizing situations and seizing opportunities to head off poor service. While the wait staff may not be empowered to make adjustments to the bill, she knew when she served it that the order was not as specified because she commented on it being wrong as she put it down, and she should have realized that when someone doesn't finish more than half an order and doesn't ask for a takeout container, there is a problem. If she doesn't have the power, she should have alerted a manager.
I have eaten at Philly's finest twice now. Once I had a Philly cheese steak just straight which was dynamite and made very quickly. The next time I came on wing night and had 20 excellent wings which were delivered quickly and with a smile by the bartender, John. There is a beer cooling ice bar which is a cool feature. This is a great place to catch any game or sport that you wanted to watch by yourself or with friends. They have excellent specials during the week, and their food is great. Even better, the service is top notch and I immediately felt at home and with friends even after visiting just twice.
I used Google to lead me to a good cheesesteak in Jacksonville. With 4.2 stars I thought this would be a safe bet. Look at the pics of my sandwich and tell me if it is indicative of a good philly...I didn't think so...taste was really good but the portion was skimpy, more bread than meat and the bread was not soft. Got a small amount of fries as well...this place is a solid 3 but the price I paid was a bit insulting 20 bucks for a skimpy Philly and a handful of fries is unreasonable...it tasted good but I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone I felt robbed. Please read the response from the owner after my initial post. Let me ask the readers to view the comments of other diners who visited this establishment. I notice a pattern. To say you got rob is far fetched to say the least. We are hard working people who have been serving great authentic cheesesteak for the last 23 years. You must be the only person who doesn't know what inflation is and how it is destroying small businesses.**
Great service and even better food. Have been here a few different times and they never disappoint. Love the various cheesesteaks as well as the appetizers. Recently tried the Buffalo chicken salad and it was delicious. Definitely recommend it as well as the Buffalo chicken fries. And I always have to get their onion rings because they are the best!
My wife and I just arrived in Jacksonville Beach for a few days and stopped here for lunch. We walked in and we sat immediately in a booth. Our server, Sydney, was right there to greet us and take our drink order. We jumped on the daily Rum Runner special. We decided to share a chicken cheesesteak and large fries. Our drinks arrived and then our food right after. Food was delicious and service was great. Sydney checked on us constantly and was very professional. Lots of Philadelphia decor on the walls. Full service bar with several televisions to view sports. Good prices and good portions.
WONDERFUL pizza!! Actually ate here twice in one day. Boom boom shrimp had at both meals. Also enjoyed some boneless buffalo wings. Lots of tv's and noise. Food is good though. Friendly service.
Great casual spot to stop for lunch by the beach, especially if you want to watch some games and/or are an Eagles fan. My meal of a Philly Cheese Steak with marinara ("pizza steak") and onion rings was delicious. I'm a big fan of the ice bar and honestly don't understand why more bars don't have one! It looked like they have pretty good specials and deals on weekdays after 4pm and during happy hour times. Would I come back / recommend to others? Yeah, definitely.
spent 1 day in Jacksonville on a road trip recently & found this place in a search for local eats and I am SO glad I did. the name didn't get me, but when I pulled up their website & menu I was so, genuinely happy as a lifelong Eagles & Phillies fan. my son and I couldn't stop smiling and talking about the sports decor. the waitress told my son to look for their "elf on the shelf" which we eventually found & it helped pass the short amount of time waiting for our food. the cheesesteaks are delicious - the bread is so soft, I was sad when I was too full to finish the whole thing. I did upcharge for their old bay seasoned waffle fries with cheese sauce and was glad I did. $25 for mine & my son's food with zero complaints. Not many games on during my visit but I imagine it's a great place to watch a game OR take a cowboys fan to if you're mad at them ? friendly staff & great food
