Great local authentic cuban cuisine.
Great place to enjoy some latin food. Cuban food is great at this place. Portions are good but not the best specially seafood. Prices are ok. I would go again no question about it
We couldn't find a place to eat that was not a fast-food joint. We finally saw Marios and came in for dinner on a Sunday night. The food was perfect. We had ample portions and it was well-prepared Cuban cuisine. We enjoyed rice and beans, tostones, sweet plantains, yucca, chicken, and fish. It was all good. The staff was very friendly. Yes it's Cuban and Spanish is spoken here, but you will do fine if you are a native English speaker. The staff will make you feel welcome and the food is good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here (two adults and two teens) after a day in the Everglades. We ordered several appetizers - ham and cheese empanadas, Mariquitas, Papa Rellena, and Queso Frito - all were good but we loved the empanadas and Papa Rellena. (We were still talking about the empanadas the next day!) For dinner, three of us ordered the Churrasca and the other ordered the Choripan. Both were good - we would definitely order the Churrasca again! The service was great too! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. There was a language barrier but we were able to communicate to each other well enough overall. There was one time our waitress wanted to make sure she understood, so she found another employee who could translate. Appreciate her patience with us. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
When we come to Homestead we always stop by Marios. Great Cuban food. We always love their Shrimp Enchiladas with their specials sauce. Excellent. The yucca is very good also and their black beans. Another favorite of mine is their plantains. Really good.
English was not the first language, but we don't speak Spanish - so we were even & our waitress made a great effort to get our order for drinks & food correct. She did a perfect job.The food was great. We weren't very hungry so the chicken soup was delish & the tuna sandwich was very good.

Best Cuban food I’ve ever had. Period. Incredible Cuban coffee! Wait staff was great. Can’t say enough!! The rest of this review is to make minimum characters.
Mario's is great!! #1 restaurant in Homestead Fl. We stumbled on it because we were looking for outdoor seating. The name Mario's Family restaurant is a misnomer. This is not a family restaurant with mediocre food. It is a top shelf Cuban-American restaurant. Great food, reasonable prices and friendly, attentive service. Tonight I had baby back ribs, sweet plantains and rice and black beans - a huge delicious meal - for $20.
