The food is excellent, I had the cari bowl with churrasco.... not a large portion of the steak, but good enough for lunch. I was full. The alcapurrias were out of this world. HOWEVER you have to eat on the sidewalk on the tiniest table.... so I won't be back until they open the restaurant inside.
Looked for gluten-free options as we left Everglades National Park and this Puerto Rican place showed up. Fabulous service. Tasty food.
OMG! Sooooooo Good! One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten in a long time in this little hidden gem of a place located in Homestead. Y’all these burgers were Juicy Flavorful, cooked perfectly. They offer a variety of Eclectic Hispanic dishes and delicious All star burgers in one place. I really recommend this restaurant. Absolutely delicious. I added before and after burger pictures. The Sangria was served in cute little hers and his cups. We had Alcapurrias as a appetizer. Yum! The El Parce burger. Yum! The What Diet Bro? Burger. Yum! Too full for dessert. Definitely next time…
This was my experience at Chef’s on the Run,When you arrive you place your order at the front door. The employee will charge you in advance for the food. Even though you sign for your bill, they will keep your card’s info as an “open tab.” The staff then directs to a rear patio area behind the plaza. I call this area “no man’s land”, no cameras, away from public view and the staff will lock the doors every time they go inside. They will only come out to clean the tables and bring out food. The tables have umbrellas, but waiting 45 minutes for your mealunder the lunch time sun will make you thirsty. They will charge you for the water since it’s bottled water only. We asked for 2 of their house burgers with American cheese since they were buy one get the other half off. They served us another type of burger with Provolone cheese more expensive. The server did say she was sorry and apologized. However, no effort to make things right was made. The only interaction they have with you is when they bring the food out or walk by to take someone else’s food. They kept saying “Your order is almost out”. A 15% gratuity is collected when you place you order. The side mofongo salty. The burgers were good, but also salty. We paid around $65 for 4 of us. Do I recommend this restaurant? The answer is NO, If you want restaurant prices for food truck food / service this is your place…
When I need to have a business meeting and someone mentions grabbing a bite to eat, my first choice is this restaurant. You wouldn't believe the comments I've received. Everything from, "Wow that's the best burger I've ever had" to "Every single thing we ate was amazing" is the standard response. I've NEVER been let down and it always ends up being a hit.The chef has a real passion for everything he does and his lovely wife is on top of everything else. Power couple, serving you the best food experience in Homestead, and some of the best food I've tried all over the world. It doesn't matter what you order, it will be done to a T. Love the burgers, love the chipotle mac 'n cheese, love the brussel sprouts, love the appetizers, love the mofongo, love EVERYTHING! Even homemade Sangria. Did I mention almost EVERYTHING there is from scratch???? Except for the ketchup......they must be slacking.Want good food? Go here. Do it.
This place was an adventure. We went there after seeing it profiled on “ Check Please”. We first thought it was closed because the front door said “ personnel only”. There was a couple sitting outside and told us that the restaurant had a “weird set-up”. The couple said someone comes out and takes the order and payment. Well, someone did come and directed us to the menu taped on the window. The waitress took our order and said if we wanted to eat there they had a back terrace. After taking our order & payment, the waitress went inside and locked the door behind her. My 12 year old felt what I felt but didn’t verbalize it-UNCOMFORTABLE! After we paid, the waitress told us to walk around the back and sit on a glass table inside the terrace. We walked around back and took a seat. Again the waitress was in and out, always locking the door behind her. I felt as though I was waiting for someone to commit a crime and that’s why the were inside behind locked doors. Now, let’s talk about the food! I had a burger along with one of my daughters. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, which I understood because it is made upon ordering. The burgers were delicious although extremely salty. My husband’s mofongo was also extremely salty. There was another customer there who had also watched “Check Please” and gave us a warming that the mofongo was filled with salt- my husband risked it and he said it was like eating nothing but salt and could not taste the plantains.Would we go back???? NO! Just felt extremely unsafe and not very welcomed.
So good! The white moscato is amazing! A must have’
This is the second visit. We had a food adventure. The mac n cheese is FABULOUS! Truffle oil lovers! The Polenta and Cheese sticks were superb! Since last time the quality has improved! The flavors of the Mongolian Bowl are still top notch. Everything can be combined with Sriracha. And they have this ‘Spiceology’ that is yummy. They have an outdoor seating area! It’s colorful and reminded me of Spain or Buenos Aires! The food is fabulous!
Food was DELICIOUS! Well worth it! And I appreciate the health concern by the staff! I can't wait to go back and try something else!
We parked across the street & walked to the front entrance. While reading the menu posted on the front window a gal came out of the door & we explained this was our 1st visit. She explained the menu options & answered all our questions before going back inside. Out came the Chef who thanked us for coming & assured us the woman would take good care of us. She came out, took our order & reiterated my choice would be prepared minus any spicy seasoning or sauce as I wished. She told us parking was available in the alley adjacent to the building, to seat ourselves in the rear patio & restrooms were there too. At 4:15p.m. we had the entire brick patio to ourselves. There were 3 smaller tables & 2 larger tables on the patio. Our food & drinks came out relatively fast and was DELICIOUS! The cooked to order grass fed hamburger was PERFECTLY COOKED & topped with provolone cheese & lettuce as we asked. It came with french fries so chose parmesan truffle fries. The chicken Mongolian bowl with herbed jasmine rice & strips of zucchini, broccolini, yellow squash & mushrooms was VERY GOOD. A bit too much brown sauce on the vegetables for my liking. Would gladly return if we pass through the area again.
