Update: 10 months ago I wrote an enthusiastic review, as a happy returning Italian client of Tasta. Today i am soo disappointed. The Gelato is no longer the same. It isn't Italian gelato.Also the rules are different. I used to buy a two flavor small cup for my 2 years old. Now they only allow two flavors with the large cup. The small cup is a lot of icecream for an adult, imagine for a 2 years old ?. I decided to buy only one small cup for my daughter and share it.Once I tried what they call "strawberry gelato" I was so relieved I had only ordered one. That didn't taste like the strawberry icecream or sorbetto we were used to have at Tasta. It was a gooish/foamy and very sweet cold thing.While complaining with the sales lady, she confirmed that that is no longer Tasta. The Italian owners sold it to someone else. The new name that you can read inside the place is Don Peppinu. I wish they had updated the name on the door, on the street so I could be prapared to expect a different experience...I'm not going back, there's better options around the corner.The pics you see are old pictures of the real gelato
Great ice creams with amazing flavours, the Sette & Mezzo is a must!
At first we thought the prices were a little on the high side but when we saw how much gelato the lady put in our cups, we changed our mind. I strongly suggest the large size (2 flavours), it’s the best value. My favourite aspect of tue shop is their more “exotic” flavours which I had not seen before. I had a lot of gelato in my life and this was top 2 among with another place in NYC.
The staff is welcoming and helpful. I liked the variety of desserts they had, from pastries, including empanadas, to gelato, cakes, mousses, maccarons, and a variety of drinks. Their gelato was good but tasted maybe a little too creamy. The tiramisu was average, but it's still my favorite dessert. Would go again if I was in the area and needed sugar.

I drove 20 min to this place to buy some ice cream , because it was the only place opened before 11pm.I arrived at 10:48 pm and a girl who worked said pretty rude that they were closed at 10:30pm already.The door was opened. The sweets were still on showcase. She was in apron and all lights were still on. I mean she was just kinda lazy and refused to serve me. I was planning to order very quick and go but sorry guys, you loose your additional money. I will refer my friends do not go there
Nice little shop. Everything was very clean and neat. I had the Sette & Mezzo. It is a mixture of chocolate, hazelnut and crunchy things. It was a good mix, it was nice, creamy and smooth.The shop is located in between other stores. Street parking is all around to be found and a parking garage is nearby.The service was friendly and the staff was very helpful.
It was a pleasant surprise. Their ice cream is excellent. Reasonable price. Great place to hang out.Their crunchy hazelnut and the white chocolate orange jam flavors are amazing.
Great gelato, so many yummy flavors. Had the mascarpone-fig and the pistachio. The place needs a menu board. I saw online the brioche ice cream sandwich but there was no indication at the store that this item existed. The brioche bun was a little stale and I think it may have been frozen cause they had to microwave it. Still it was good.
Ridiculously good gelato! I will never waste any calories elsewhere. From variety to quality, amazing !
