Breakfast was excellent. We arrived just before the restaurant was switching from Breakfast to Lunch and they were very accommodating and took our breakfast order. Our Server, Jackie, was excellent.
I went to have lunch here over the weekend, and let me tell you, the food was excellent, the drinks were cold and full, but what really blew me away was the service. My friend and I had the opportunity to be served by Jose Torres at the bar, and he did not disappoint. I was impressed with how attentive, accurate, and timely his service was. I will definitely be returning to Port South Bar & Grill, and I would definitely advise anyone going to eat there to ask for “Jose with the light eyes.”
For the freshest, tastiest and most reasonably priced hotel breakfast along Ocean Ave. In Hollywood Fla., this is the destination for you. Beautiful views of the intercoastal waterway, beyond their pool area, and exemplary service. If you get Jackie as your server, it increases the value and pleasure of the overall experience. Added bonus, 7 -Eleven close by to bring reasonably priced items back to wherever you are staying.
Service was slow to be seated, to be served, and rather expensive for what you get. Staff was pretty friendly and there food was decently good. I came for breakfast. Had a Belgian waffle and coffee. The coffee was pretty good for drip coffee. If I return I'll try something new and report back.The outside seating area is nice and had a partial view of the pool and canal.
We attempted to get some takeout on 3/27. The woman that took our order was absolutely rude from the get go. We waited 40min and still had no food, no explanation or apology. She was irritated with us when we decided to cancel the order and started to ask us, "Where do we have to go and why we were in a rush?" Seriously? It's in the middle of the afternoon, they have zero customers inside (besides us), can't even get our food out....and she's asking us questions that aren't even her business?
Our waiter went above n beyond for us and we truly appreciated him. The food was super yummy and the fruit n yogurt was huge!

This restaurant is part of the Doubletree Hotel. The hotel discontinued their free breakfast due to COVID-19 so you were allowed at $12 credit at the restaurant (only if you were a platinum member to the hotel, so if course we had to pay). Understandable. Being from the West Coast we wanted to eat a later breakfast and they just stop serving breakfast early. The dinner service stopped at 5:30. The one meal that we ate there was mediocre. Service was fine.
Stayed for a week at the Doubletree where Port South Bar & Grill is Located. Food was well portioned, impresively fresh, & delicious everday. We ate breakfast lunch and some early dinners there regularly throughout our stay. Tostones were amazing. Mostly apps, sandwhich fare with a few entrees and a full bar. All service there was great everyday. 2 real standouts who went the extra mile in service, mixology, and friendly conversation were Jackie & Alejandro. They made our experience there special.
Terrible service!!Waited for a good 25 minutes as the server saw us and continued cleaning other tables.My husband had to go into the restaurant to get someone to take our order. Would not return!
