I was assuming the food would be great because of the 4 and half stars...however I'm very disappointed. Lol mein was dry and tasted like oil. But worse of all...the crab Rangoon which I was most excited about went into my trash. It consisted of chopped onion and cream cheese only. No crab at all! But chopped onions? Who does that?? Very disappointed and upset will not be coming back.
My sister was visiting from out of town and took us here for lunch. Found the place ok and wanted to bring my family here, who were out of town at the time. After lunch today went to pay and redeem a voucher and was told no can do, we used one two weeks ago. Explained to the owner that that was my sister not me. The reply was, its the same thing. I explained that I had already viewed the voucher to use it, her answer, that's your problem. I will enjoy watching the demise of this restaurant rhat doesn't value its customers.
This food was delicious and I liked the ambiance at Helen's. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The ribs were delicious.
The service here is 5 star. The staff is very polite, quick and attentive. The food came out pretty quickly on real dishes. I enjoyed the pecking duck with the crispy skin.
Ordered a take out order and I am disappointed with everything but the egg drop soup. The General Changs chicken is full of msg even after requesting no msg and tastes so bad, the Pork lo mein was dry, flavorless without a real pork meat and the Egg Roll just tasted like oil. Also the service was very rude, giving me an attitude because I was not wearing a mask (which is not required in this state).
I like the service and friendliness. Always feel very welcomed. Food tonight was great. Hot and Sour Soup perfectly balanced and filled with tofu and other delicacies. Veggies super fresh in a broth sauce and not over cooked. Egg Foo Young Patties are !HUGE
Helen does a great job with her restaurant. Good prices. Service and food is consistently good. If you are near downtown Hollywood this is the go to Chinese restaurant.
Very quiet there,food is very good without question, my favorite plum wine ?, definitely going back variety on the menu

We like the food here but not consistent with salt or sauces. I think it depends on the chef that day. They do accept Restaurant.com vouchers and Groupon so it makes it have value for us. Outside and Indoor seating. Clean environment. Guests are spaced apart. Staff wear masks ?
