When I found out this was Katana's sister location I was so excited because Shima is only 2 minutes away from my house. Two things I need to criticize:1. About 90% of the sushi on the conveyor belt is smothered in spicy mayo. If someone wants spicy mayo they can always order it on the side. It ruins the sushi in my opinion.2. The service needs to be more attentive. I had to ask for wasabi/ginger several times before it actually got to me. This was about 30 minutes into dinner.Overall, the dining experience was not awful but definitely not anywhere near Katana. I will continue making the long drive, because it's just THAT much more worth it.

The revolving boats sushi were cute and different than a conveyor belt style of sushi. On a Saturday night, the wait time was around 30-45 minutes and there were only two servers. Service was slow and not attentive. The boat sushi were continuous the same type of sushi rolls. There was not a large amount of variety and the boats were continuously getting empty. It seems like there was only one sushi chef that did all the raw sushi rolls for here and to go orders. The sushi and fried items was good and fresh. The Japanese Omelette Rice was ok. Not worth $20. The restaurant is a bit run down as well and there were two portable A/Cs around the facility. I would highly recommend putting names on the revolving sushi.

I am very sad about todays experience in shimas, my friend and sister have been coming here for over 20 years. I’m a single mom with a 4 year old she does not eat sushi I figured because she’s hungry, let me buy her a happy meal. We come to eat sushi because we love the food (by the way very delicious sushi the food definitely deserves a five stars) one of the waiters come and say that my daughter is not allowed to eat her food because it’s outside food, I mean come on, its a child, I would totally understand if an adult brought outside food or if there was at least a kids menu in this place. I was really bummed out because me as a single mother are not allowed to come because my daughter can’t eat anything here. If no outside food is allowed for a child please add a kids menu!

Finding Jewels in your own neighborhood is such a delight! My brother recommended this restaurant. I heard the door click open at 6pm and walked in to rotating boats of fresh sushi. My 20 oz Sapporo beer was a perfect pairing. You are charged a few dollars per plate that you grab and I had to stop after 6 plates. Sooo delicious.

Shimas never fails me. Honestly it’s one of my favorite sushi and Japanese dining in the whole area. Prices are fair, portion sizes are good, and the atmosphere is great. The waiters are very friendly and helpful. Expect a wait time of roughy 30-45 minutes because this place gets full the moment it opens all week and weekend long.

Favorite restaurant, easily. Food is delicious, incredibly fair prices, staff is incredibly kind and easy going, aesthetics are pleasing and even though people are drinking and eating at the sushi bar, the environment is relaxed and chill. My girlfriend and I will be returning on our nights off!

All the food was incredibly fresh and delicious, I would wait hours to dine here again. Great service and amazing food

Amazing food and cozy ambiance ... a must do !

This place is a hidden gem, I went recently and the sushi is some of the best I've had. Everything was very fresh and was also pretty cheap, definitely would recommend coming here.

We waited for our name to be called for over an hour. When i went inside to check our name had been crossed off. I was waiting outside the door and they were trying to tell me they called me when I was sitting right there waiting to be called. I saw numerous amounts of people who arrived after us be seated. Once I brought this to there attention they were extremely rude and unhelpful. I ended going to go eat at a different restaurant after a 2 hour debacle. I would not recommend.
