The best place for a nice sushi dinner. I have been here 2 Mother's Day's in a row now. My favorite! Clean, quiet and excellent service.

It's fine. The hours are inconvenient and the food isn't good enough to put up with the hassle of scheduling time to eat there. Very cramped. Not even room for more than one person to walk down the aisle at a time. Ordered a warm sushi roll and it was room temperature. Only half sushi and the rest was just chunks of fish. Bathroom floor was sticky.

Food was good, service was great. We went for an early dinner and they were very kind to make earlier than their scheduled time for dinner. Prices are also very very reasonable in comparison some of other sushi restaurants out there. 4/5

I have enjoyed dine in and take out and the quality never changes ! Definitely recommend for sushi lovers or someone who wants to try it for the first time.

This is a mixed review. We ate here while staying in Gainesville on our way to the beach. We chose this restaurant because it had good reviews and my daughter is vegetarian. Typically she can get a veggie role or something she likes. So the menu was fine and we all ordered something we liked. English was clearly a second language for the waitress…and that is fine. We explained that my daughter is vegetarian and would like her sushi on a separate plate. Somehow that became understood that she wanted extra ginger. No big deal. When the food came out the food was pretty good except they put caviar all over the vegetable roll. When my daughter tried to explain that the vegetable roll should not have caviar the lady again though she wanted more ginger. We finally got her to understand that the caviar was the issue and we wanted a different roll. She returned a few minutes later with the same plate with the same roll. We could tell because my wife had taken chop sticks with soy sauce on them and taken the wasabi off the plate. That spot was still there. They had “mostly” scraped the caviar off the roll and she now had a “pile” of ginger. In the end we gave up. My niece ate the veggie roll and I took my daughter someplace else to eat. I truly do not mind folks working for a better life in a new country. But someone has to help this lady so the service is reasonable. Our request was not that complicated and we didn’t need a pile of ginger. As a side note…the small mountain of ginger was really funny. I wish I had taken a picture.

Until I came here and tasted real, fresh, beautifully presented seafood, I didn't like sashimi. Now I can't go anywhere else because Matsuri has set my standard so high. Sushi rolls are also delicious, with the menu featuring both classics and house specialties. For appetizers, try the sauteed spinach or fried tofu in delicious broth. Service is always fantastic and so are the frosty beer mugs.

Very Meh experience, the staff was lovely, very friendly. The food fresh and good. Very small and crowded environment.

Always great food and great service!

Clean place, slow service. We ate 8 different sushi rolls all over $12 each. They were okay at best. If you're a sushi eater this place is probably not going to impress you.

Takeout sushi and sashimi were beautifully presented inside well-spaced boxes. Sashimi Appetizer was particularly nice, delicious fish of unusual varieties arranged on a bed of seaweed salad, leaves, and shredded radish. All staff members were wearing masks. The person who took telephone order was patient, and the hostess was friendly I when arrived to pick up the order. Inside, the restaurant is clean and bright, and the chefs look like experienced serious professionals.
