The food was delicious and the drinks. Nice little setting and the waiter was patient with us it was our first time
Food was great, drinks even better
I've worked in the food and beverage industry for more than half of my life, and almost never leave negative reviews. But this place deserves it so much I won't hold back. First, the service at the bar was so shamefully slow we didn't even know who was our bartender. The bar was left completely unattended for long stretches, and when someone finally condescended to make an appearance we still had to flag him or her down and request service. They were unfriendly, unhelpful, "Bare minimum" is too generous of a description to describe these lazy, disorganized, indifferent staff. We only went there because of the online description of their supposedly generous happy hour. Upon getting our bill, we learned that they 2for1 drinks was a deceitful marketing ploy. We ordered well margaritas, medium (about the size of a normal margarita at most joints) and they charged $18 a piece. Newsflash, if you more than double the price and then say 2for1 that is deceptive. Any other similar establishment in the same area would've charged $10 -12 for a medium margarita. Again, this was well rot-gut tequila at $18 a piece. I don't know what is more disappointing, the shamefully lazy service or the deceptive marketing of their happy hour, but I'll never be back, and neither will any of my friends after learning how awful this place is. For what it's worth, and to be as fair as I can, the salsa was better than other Mexican places, as was the food. But if you care about prices or service, drive right by this place.
This is an amazing place to eat! I love how family oriented it is! No one is complaining about your children. They have great options for kids to eat. The family atmosphere has us coming back. The food is amazing and they give you so much for the price. We are returning customers and will continue to come back! I will for ever be recommending this place!
We waited with no help. Several groups waiting. Guy with long painted fingernails at host stand was completely incompetent. Tables were cleaned off and ready and host was just letting people pile up. He told everyone 10-15 minutes but it was longer. He then said he could not find list of names. He was also rude when I asked about when people could be seated. I asked him about when we might be seated and he said he had no idea. What kind of operation is this? We walked out.
My experience here was HORRIBLE. An it was very disappointing because this was my third time being there and my first two times were great. Let’s start by how we were sitting at the bar until our 40min wait was over but the bartender was giving a very hard time sitting at the bar, literally had another customer arguing with me when asked him to scoot down after the bartender continuous made a big deal about us sitting at the end of the bar knowing we were waiting on our table. After 40 minutes went behind and tension levels have rise the host proceeds to tell us there will be ANOTHER 30 mins before we have been seated. An at this point I reach out to the host and ask her why is there an adtl., 30 mins prior to the original 40 mins we were told once we arrived. The host instead of trying to accommodate us or figure out how to kill the wait time, she decides to argue with me about how they didn’t have enough tables and why it was so long and even suggested for us to sit separately from our party like we didn’t come together. On top of the servers makingDerogatory marks towards PAYING CUSTOMERS. Peppers won’t ever have to worry about me or my 6 other friends bringing our business to this establishment again. Very disappointing ❗️
First time coming.. I came for my birthday dinner! It was so worth it. Amazing outstanding customer service and absolutely tasty food!!! I’m literally thinking about going back tomorrow for lunch lol. So serious!! ( btw: I ordered chimichanga that came with black beans or rice. And the drink was kind of like fruit punch lol. Order the Magritta my friends said they were so good.,but strong though)
Second time we visit this establishment and it was just as good as the first time! The service was quick and the food was delicious. Prices are also very reasonably priced.
I'm from the midwest, and I've been to Mexico. Pepper's is the closest you'll get to authentic Mexican in Gainesville, and the cooks are all Mexican from what I could tell. They do Mole here. Excellent food, and great service. You have to try it if Mexican is your thing, it blows everything else away in town.
Nice Mexican lunch, good salsa and service. It was a little pricey and it seems like they may have been understaffed, but that's the norm these days.
