Definitely a locally owned restaurant. Their 3 course meal is a nice price and amount of food. Veggies are fresh and correctly cooked. I do think it is a nice choice of restaurants in Gainesville, especially when you want it conversational.
This is my familyâs favorite place for special occasion dinner. It is a locally owned business and the food is excellent. The only weakness is the cocktailsâ¦otherwise itâs thumbs up!
Chef Bert Gill takes pride in making food unique, delicious and beautiful! All of the staff are welcoming and friendly and the experience is always just right. Don’t forget dessert - some of the very best in town!

Service was amazing, location and ambiance left a little to be desired. Ingredients were quick serve/frozen and low quality, menu was written to hide that fact. For example, “Pom frites with octopus and infused Aoli” was actually frozen French fries with canned, fishy octopus and mayonnaise. Good menu concepts, just poorly executed. Cocktails were high quality and well thought out though! Staff was really awesome, that saved the night.
Mildred’s is my favorite restaurant. I said 4 stars for value because some might find it pricey. We sat outside and there was a lovely breeze. It was a very busy time, but the service was very good and our server was helpful and very pleasant. Glad to find out that employees other than servers get a share of the added cost. Always wonderful.
