I love this place. I’m always happy and satisfied with their sushi. Sushi are always very flavorful. My favorite place for sushi in Gainesville.
My favorite restaurant in Gainesville! The owners and staff are absolutely the best! I used to go there about every other day and the staff had my order memorized. They are so good at their jobs that a few weeks after I moved away after college they called me to make sure I was alive after they didn't see me for so long. Great place. I recommend it to anyone going to Gainesville!
Great place great food! Decent service. The only down fall is the communication barrier. Their English is sketchy at best. Still if you want good quality Sushi, fresh with generous portions. This is the place. My family and I eat here at least once a month. The fish is always chilled and has a good level of fat , and nice texture. I am very picky. Especially when eating raw foods. The get my Sushi business every time. Several other places to eat Sushi, most of them over priced, over rated, with smaller portions. I don't like over paying for rice and seaweed . Kudos to the crew at Mahzu.
Undeniably the best sushi in Gainesville. Always delicious and consistent and very reasonably priced. Service is friendly and quick and they are great for takeout too. The dining area may need a bit of a makeover but it is at least clean and organized. Love this place so, so much!
The sushi arrived warm upon delivery because a raw roll was packed next to a cooked roll. With such a large order and it being our first time eating here, we were very disappointed. I can then swallowed a fish bone and picked out another large bone in my roll. I will not be eating here or ordering from this place again.
Not great by Japanese standards in food or ambiance, but it was an OK lunch. Very small portions and variety for the lunch Bento Box. Rolls were not mostly rice so that along might make it a comeback place. Service was efficient and prices reasonable.
Strip mall Sushi place that has excellent service and excellent food! Food was served quickly, fresh and Miso soup and green tea were hot. Server was on point and friendly. Definitely recommend this place!
Truly my favorite sushi spot in the area. Coming from a port city; I was looking for a place to meet my standards of fish and this place had the freshest ingredients amongst all I tried. The staff is attentive and so nice, very accommodating to ingredient requests. Make sure to look at the day of the week, though! They are closed on a particular weekday. Lots of parking available in the plaza.
We had great take out- the Mexican roll and the Gainesville roll, as well as shrimp and squid appetizers. All very well done!And these are nice people: my online order messed up and didn’t register so they simply took it in a very nonplussed way- and whipped it up in 10 minutes. They treated me well!
I’m vegan so I got avacodo, sweet potato, and mango. It was DELICIOUS! They are very friendly as well.
