This place is always a great experience. The price for the food for the portion you get is fantastic and the quality is not only consistent but it is consistently great! I have never had a bad dish or experience here. Be it eat in or take home. A cute little bonus is the back grocery store they have. They are also super realistic about wait time/pick up time. Obviously because this is a gem lunch hour is always swamped but everything is still put out in great timing. I have never waited more than 20 minutes for food even when packed. My family and I have been going to this place since we moved 7 years ago. Do yourself a favor and eat here, and definitely work your way across the menu you wont be disappointed.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Was halfway through eating my guacamole and found this UNDENIABLE bug. I drove back to la tienda, told them that there was a bug and that I wanted a refund. The male at the counter said in Spanish “that is a cockroach”, however when other employees came over they all started to deny that it VERY CLEARLY is a bug and that it is a piece of the avocado pit. They took the bug out and ripped it apart and was rubbing its legs and antannae between their fingers and saying that it was “hairs” from the avocado pit. It’s very clearly, undeniably a BUG. And a large one. Anywho, I don’t recommend eating at La Tienda. They offered me a refund however, denying me in front of all their customers, when they very clearly knew what it was is just plain rude.Do not eat here unless you want a wee bit more protein in your food, aka, bugs!

I went to La Tienda this weekend, and had a great experience as per usual. This local latin restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere fits the fun latin flare, but is relaxed enough to stop by just for a quick bite to eat and the staff are always friendly. I went with my friend and we always have to get an order of chips and salsa to share because the salsa ingredients are so fresh, and the chips always come out hot and crispy. By far our favorite salsa in Gainesville. My favorite recommendation is the pollo tacos, I order them each time I come and I am always satisfied. You get three corn tortillas, piled high with pulled chicken, onions and cilantro toppings. So delicious and filling. I recommend La Tienda to anyone coming to Gainesville looking for the perfect place to eat for lunch or dinner, if you want the fun casual dining experience of a local restaurant in your favorite college town.

I went to La Tienda this past Saturday with a group of friends looking for a close authentic Mexican restaurant near campus. We all left the restaurant more than satisfied. The customer service was top-notch and the restaurant was clean even having a small convenience store attached offering great hispanic spices, snacks, and candies. The restaurants menu had a variety of options ranging from quesadillas to soups. I personally think that the prices are very reasonable considering the amount of food provided. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining as well as takeout options. Overall, delicious dining experience, would definitely recommend!

Great food and quick service. This is one of my favorite restaurants ANYWHERE. It doesn't disappoint!

Real deal Mexican food that won't break the bank. Food is amazing!

My family loved it . Prices are great and very flavorful dishes! Photo is of a steak taco salad and a sope topped with chicken. Service is quick and they offer out door seating !

The food was good but the person taking there order behind them counter was not the friendliest.I had a green mole chicken enchilada which i thought was very good and the other 2 guest had a veggie burrito and a mushroom quesadilla and they both said that they were good as well. We would definitely return.

This was my first time at la tienda while visiting my brother in Gainesville. I decided to have the dish of three soft tacos carne asada. The tacos were great although I could only eat two. Enjoyed the fresh lime juice but their hot sauce burnt my tongue. I always see it as a good sign when I see Hispanics visiting a Hispanic restaurant, which I did. Good food, quick service, overall, a good experience.

My favorite restaurant in Gainesville! Very delicious food. There is usually a significant wait, so I would recommend getting chips to tide you over in the meantime. Alternatively, you can call in your order to have it ready sooner.
