This is for anyone who might be considering a job at this location.I was a manager (promoted quickly) after being hired due to the low retention rate of managers. To put it bluntly this establishment does not treat any of their workers with respect or decency, and there were several pay issues. The store is located on University Ave, so it's right next to the University of Florida. On game days (football) business soars and when they hired new people to the business they openly promoted the fact that they would pay 20.00 dollars a hour on game days. This promise was not kept to the dozens of people working at this establishment. Not only was this promise not kept until I and other co-workers consistently brought up the issue and demanded to be paid accordingly, and waited months for the issue to be resolved. people cannot wait months for money they are owed, they have bills to pay. There have also been several pay issues with drivers at this Jimmy John location.Drivers are paid via wisely, and we pay them through documenting their tips as managers. However, since we weren't allowed to pay our drivers in cash (as it was paid via wisely digitally) as a manager we had rely payroll and higher management to roll out the pay correctly, which they consistently did not roll out correctly. Drivers every shift would have to take pictures of their receipts just so they could get paid correctly. This isn't even mentioning the the poor pay for entre-level employees. The starting pay is 9.00 dollars a hour, which gets raised to 10.00 once "training has finished". This low pay, and ridiculous policy of starting people at 9.00 to only switch them to 10.00 in usually less than a month contributes greatly to the low retention rate seen within this Jimmy Johns.I would not advise working here unless the conditions have greatly changed or the pay is substantially higher. Which is unlikely because the upper management for this Jimmy Johns is utterly inept and unprofessional. There are thousands of openings for jobs across Gainesville that pay higher and will treat you far better, I would advise applying there rather than at this Jimmy Johns location.
Over 3 hours after placing an order, still waiting for delivery. Don’t waste your time with this location, no guarantee when or if your food will be delivered.Update, after 4 hours of waiting and 5 calls to the restaurant Danielle decided to void my order and refused to give me a refund. Avoid this location at all costs
Great subs and are very fresh and friendly
If you like to gamble if your food delivery will ever show up call this location, they never have delivery people, and never let you know your food isn't going to be delivered. Gave 2 stars cause the food is decent if you don't have to call to cancel your order after its sitting in the store for over an hour
Wow, this location sucks. I had never gone to this one and I'm not doing that again.Made an online order, gave them about 20 minutes, then arrived at the store. My food wasn't ready, but that's fine, I can wait. There was a bit of a crowd and the cashier joked to everyone that she was going to stop accepting orders because it's busy. Depreciative humor that makes me feel bad for having stopped in bothers me. Just don't joke out loud like that.I ordered a Lil John, which shouldn't even take as long as a full sub, as a combo. It was packaged nicely and I drove back to work. When I went to eat I noticed that my sandwich literally only had TOMATO, LETTUCE, AND MAYO. Nothing else. None of the meat or cheese I ordered. What an embarrassment. Ridiculous. I wasted my work break. I already sent a feedback form to Jimmy John's because I've never seen this before. Also parking for this location is non-existent and atrocious, but that's not their fault.
This is the second time: cookies are not fresh and bread is hard and not fresh
Don’t order for delivery unless you’re placing your order *at least* two hours before you plan on eating. It takes that long to get your sandwich delivered. This has happened several times to us and happened even before the pandemic. At that point who knows if your sandwich is even safe to eat though since it’s probably been sitting in a backpack or on a car seat for at least 30-45 minutes. It’s just not worth it. Order from somewhere else where the employees at least pretend to care.
The staff is usually pretty fast with preparing orders. The line cooks are always super nice.
Fast and yummy!
