The food here is absolutely amazing and totally worth the prices! We enjoyed everything that we got, but we especially loved the shrimp and grits, the lobster bisque, the coconut shrimp, the lobster mashed potatoes, and the filet mignon. The cocktails were strong, and the chocolate torte and cheese plate (so good!) were a great way to wrap up the meal.
We went to Embers for our anniversary dinner while in Gainesville. Their atmosphere, food presentation and taste as well as service was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant. "Do make reservations"
We came here for our anniversary dinner. The atmosphere is very welcoming and clean. They brought 3 different types of bread for “bread service” and the bread was incredible. There was Asiago, Garlic and Sea Salt served with homemade garlic butter, soooo delicious. I wish I could say the same for the steaks. I guess I may be a little biased since I’m a chef myself and I make a solid 9.5 when it comes to steak. I had the filet and my husband had the ribeye. Presentation was a 10, the sides which consisted of onion, spinach, asparagus and mushrooms were about a 7. The spinach was a bit bland and watery but OK. Our steaks, however, were no more than a 5 out of 10. If we go again, I’ll try something other than the steaks as it’s hard for me to score steaks when I’m out because I’m consistently comparing them to my own. All in all, good experience.
Just passing through town. Service was superb. Had coconut shrimp appetizer. Only 5 pieces but good. I had a large bowl of bisque and a salad. Very good. My son got the 6oz filet, and in his words, didn’t need teeth, it was so tender. Cooked medium. Between appetizer and bread, did not leave room for desert but they did look good. Parked next to a Lamborghini Urus out front. Will try very hard to get back.
Booked our reservation months in advance since it was graduation weekend at UF. So glad we did! The service was incredible. Melvin was our waiter and he was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine. He was very attentive and didn’t rush us at all, plus his personality added to our experience. We will definitely request him in the future. The food was absolutely amazing. I was concerned because they were offering a fixed menu with no substitutions but we could not have been happier with our selections. My husband ordered the 14 oz ribeye and I ordered the scallops. We shared so that we could try both entrees. I have never had a steak that was as flavorful. I confess that I’m a steak sauce person but I am so happy that I didn’t cover up the flavor of the steak by adding sauce. My son got the filet and scallops combo and loved his meal as well. For dessert we ordered the banana foster cheesecake and it was to die for. We were with another family and all of us agreed that it was one of the best meals ever. The whole experience was perfect. We even loved where they seated our party of 7, which was in a back room with booth type seating on one side of the table instead of in the main dining room that was busier. We are definitely looking forward to going back again.
Dined Al' Fresco the atmosphere was perfect and the food was amazing.
My husband and I came here for our one year wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful experience.Donny, our server, was constantly checking on us and did his best to make sure we were comfortable. Initially we sat inside and it was hot, and we were quickly seated outside to a nice candlelit dinner by the fountain. We were the only couple there and it was a nice, intimate dinner. We were recommended a very nice red wine, the Annabella, and we really enjoyed it. My steak was cooked to perfection.
Food was A+ and the service was good. I had the ribeye and my wife had the short ribs. The banana foster cheesecake was fantastic. The place does need a little bit of TLC. For example, the fence just before you enter the main building (where the hostess stand is) is falling apart. Not a great first impression and the only thing holding it back from 5*
Great dining experience! Jerry was fantastic with us as we experienced Embers Wood Grill's delicious entrees: scallops and ribeye.
