Visited Dragonfly on the recommendation of an alum while touring the campus with our son. Not to sound dramatic but the food was absolutely delicious. Our server, Tatiana, was super helpful and friendly which only added to the amazing experience.We ordered the Wonton appetizer which melted in our mouths, the Ginger salad was fresh and perfectly sized, and The Big Boss, Black Dragon, and California rolls were the best we’ve ever eaten! Topped of this amazing dinner with Green Tea Crème Brûlée and Tempura Fried Cheesecake.Super cute and trendy restaurant located in downtown Gainesville.Bottom line, Dragonfly is a must when in the area! Our waitress Lucy was excellent. The sweet potato tempura with spinach, avocado, & mushroom was crazy good- we left the spicy sauce off it & substituted eel. Same for the shrimp tempura. Can’t wait to go back!
Hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to!! Very impressed with the quality and uniqueness of the food. Our server Emma was outstanding! She is very knowledgeable about all menu items and has a great personality. Our favorites were the Volcano roll and green tea crème brûlée.
Presentation 10/10, staff 10/10, salmon nigiri, portion was smaller than I’m used to, but rice was perfect and actually just right 10/10 ; pork ramen 8/10 - broth very, good pork - perfect , soft cooked egg :( not soft cooked
Upbeat, modern sushi … fantastic food and staff. We loved it and will be back soon. We have some friends coming to Gainesville and have already told them how good it is.
It was very tasty, but the portions are small (like tapas) so you end up spending quite a lot. There's outdoor seating, a sushi bar, and a regular bar to sit at in addition to indoor seating. They're pretty popular so either make a reservation in advance or be ready to wait. It's a great date night spot or a place to celebrate a special occasion.
Our fave in Gainesville since our very first trip to UF. Delicious food and great ambiance. Must have include the pork buns, short ribs and dumplings.
Every item was top notch. Calamari, Big Roll, Crab Rice, Mushroom Ragu, and on and on. Nice cocktails as welll. Japanese Whiskey highball worth a try.
Stopped by for dinner on a Friday night and sat at the bar seating out on the patio. The sushi rolls and sake flight were delicious and the service was excellent as well.
We had a nice eve at Dragonfly! The place has a great selection of creative sushi and other Asian cuisine, all of which are fresh and tasty! The bar also stands out with a great selection of house drinks and sake. The dining experience is an upbeat vibe and the service is attentive. Definitely recommend. Just be prepared to wait without a reservation!.
