Burgers and sweet potato tots were great! Will definitely be back next time we’re in Gainesville.
We enjoyed eating outside. The burgers reminded us of our old hamburger joint, back when we we young. The sweet potato tots were great & the hamburgers will run down you arm if you are not careful. Get plenty of napkins. The prices are not the cheapest, but that won't keep us from eating there again. So glad we found this place.
Ummmmm these burgers are legit. I am sorry I did not take photos of the crazy good burger I customized to have the yummy sauce on the side and with pepper Jack cheese but I promise it was fabulous. Take my word.. GO EAT THERE! Oh as we discovered they offer a veggie and an impossible burger (we are carnivores so we did not pick that option but it’s good to know), really good ginger lemonade tea drink and well, of course, great iced coffee as an accompaniment. Everything about the burger was delicious. I added bacon, and It wasn’t the pre-cooked kind like most places use. Their version of an Arnold Palmer is the Ginger Half & Half. Such a yummy drink for this summertime heat. It was too hot to eat outside there, so I parked across the street in a grassy area and ate.
I finally got a chance to try Dick Mondell’s on a Sunday night with a friend. We both got the classic Big Dick double burger and split some fries. The patties were freshly grilled but for $8 the burger felt a little small. The nostalgic feel is worth experiencing at least once.
Pretty good simple burger. Nothing fancy here. Buns were just ok, patties were a decent size and juicy. There are better burgers in Gainesville, but these were good. Fries were just ok as well. Prices are a bit high for what it is. Service was efficient and friendly. I probably won't be coming back unless I'm in the area and really craving a burger.
Want a MILKshake....with very little to no ice cream, this is the place to go to. The fries were the only good thing about this place. Took about 10 minutes to go through the drive through for about 3 cars in front of us. The homemade ice cream would have been good if one of the cookie was rock hard and the side was soft. Wouldn't go here again.
Good food. Short order burger joint with some very good quality beef. I like the fries too. Not the fastest, but definitely worth the wait and the car line. This food never disappoints.I still hate paper straws though. Bring your own reusable if you feel the same.
The BEST impossible and beef burgers we have had in a LONG TIME!! Very flavorful, hot, fresh and seasoned well. $25.00 for two meal was differently worth every single penny. The SWEET POTATOES tater tots wasn’t a hit for us. Definitely recommend to all visitors in the GainesVille Fl area.
Looks like this place is modeled after Dick’s in Seattle, except is 10 times the price on a smaller burger, in Gainesville. Took well over 10 minutes to get the burger no worries. Except burgers almost $10 and tiny. Nah I’m good
