I had a problem with the noise level at Covey Kitchen. There was a small group of musicians playing (with vocalist) but it was so very noisy, that you couldn't converse at the table. It was just awful.
Lovely jazz quartet and very knowledgeable server. Server did disappear some during latter half of dinner. Food was very good. I had short ribs and have had before. Carrots overcooked and not as eye pleasing as the photos always indicate. Happened last time as well. Small details but those do matter. Will return for jazz dinner.
Outstanding service and delicious menu and cocktails. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the pond view and fountains. Tessa our server was exceptional!
Cauliflower is the best n surprise, cocktails are good to try. Only entrees are just ok.
Great service: very courteous and knowledgeable. Both starter (shrimp cocktail) and entree (crema cavaleri) were very good and quite filling.
Delicious starters cauliflower ( enough for 2-3) and super delicious creamed cavatelli with fennel sausage (enough for almost 2). Service was excellent, too!!!
We hadn't been to this kind of restaurant for many months and were overjoyed with the creativeness of the chef and the quality of the food. The cocktails were also excellent. Our waitress was knowledgable and came frequently to check on us. But she also had a lot of other duties including cleaning tables out on the patio and sweeping the concrete flooring out there. That meant that she couldn't always notice when we needed something. We found the total bill a little higher than expected but we had a number of cocktails and that was our fault. We will definitely be back and would certainly recommend it to others.
The cauliflower appetizer is a must. Delicate. Flavorful. Other appetizers like the pork belly and charcuterie were well received. For whatever reason, many at the table ordered burgers which were cooked to their different tastes. My steak frites was cooked to my perfection and was of high quality and tasty. Service was competent and friendly. Not intrusive. We took our time and we definitely felt welcomed and not rushed. As it was a birthday celebration, we enjoyed a bottle of champagne which was reasonably priced. Overall, a most pleasant birthday celebration.
Two star ambiance with 3-4 star food. Seriously, I walked in and thought I arrived for my free breakfast at the Comfort Inn. Cheap carpet and tables, cold lighting, non-descript decor.BUT, most of our food was great. We had the crispy cauliflower app which came with 3 sauces, 2 of which were above average. My partner had a great salad and I really enjoyed the swordfish. We made the mistake of ordering coffee and bread pudding for dessert, both of which were poor. We debated on whether it's okay to send food back because they have a bad plan of how to prepare it instead of just poor execution. Not worth the money.
Among my favorites in Gainesville.Fantastic atmosphere inside around late afternoon and sunset time! So much natural light.Cobb salad was filling and delicious. Proportion was very satisfying. They have an interesting selection of beers including unique sours. I enjoyed exploring!Server, Emily, was super.I payed $24 for the salad and the beer. Given the setting and the quality of food, I'm satisfied.
