The food was awesome and the portions were good size. Prices were also reasonable. One sandwich would have been enough for two! The only downside was the environment... dirty! Or it would have been 5 stars!
Customer service was lackluster (not sure if the young man was having a bad day)...he was not rude, just seemed like he wanted to be elsewhere. Food: ribs without the sauce were okay, not the worst but not the best. With the sauce, brings the taste up a notch. Sides were pretty good. I had Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans. The Mac was really creamy with a little tang and the beans had shredded pork added which was great. Overall, good spot...may have to try something else other than the ribs.
This has to be some of the worst BBQ I’ve ever had. The ribs were a very cheap cut that were full of fat and super greasy. The collard greens tasted like grass and the black eyes peas had everything you could think of in them except flavor. The one nice thing I can say is that the place was very clean.*****update after owner responded****Your reply is that if I would’ve let the server know they would’ve been happy to bring me something else…. What is the point of having something else brought out when everything on the plate including the sides were awful?
Best smoked food in a long time. Portion sizes were very generous! We had the smoked chicken and the boy had ribs. All the meat was tender and juices. We had fried pickles as the appetizer. We went to Mudslingers that morning, saw the smoke over the building and knew that's were we were going to eat.
As return customer, I again enjoyed my dining experience. The food and staff always deserve a Five Star rating. I do however miss the restaurant being on the South end of town when it was by the Hospitals. I rarely get to the North end. But I still enjoy myself when I do make it there.
Quick stop for a weekday lunch. First, it was crowded at 1130am. A good sign. The parking was not easy to find, wish they could improve it. Second, nice menu selection and went with a specialty, brisket. The staff there hustle. They are good at getting you in, sat down and served. The brisket sandwich special I had came with garlic bread (good, but a little burnt) juicy brisket, perfectly creamy Cole slaw and hot and crispy fries. It was all tasty. Only one option that I saw for BBQ sauce but it was good with the meat. Overall, good quality. Good value. Will be back next time to try the ribs.
Venue: reasonably sized joint with indoor seating, booth or table options. Cool gator truck outside the location and lot of gator influenced decor. Kids and tourists will get a kick out of this place.Service: very prompt and attentive, never felt like we were waiting for anything.Food: portions were huge and the food was pretty good, maybe the best BBQ I've had in America so far (tbh I'm not very keen on American BBQ). I'd definitely recommend the ribs.Drinks: not sure if they had alcohol options, they probably do soda but I had the sweet tea which was very sweet and a large amount.
We are visiting and ordered via Grubhub. Everything was AMAZING from the fast delivery, freshness of the food and incredible tasting food!
Absolutely Hands Down Best BBQ in Gainesville, Fl!!! We drive 30 miles one way to eat here, we love it! Great staff as well!
No wonder this place gets so many great reviews! The food is tasty, the staff is very friendly and attentive and the portions are generous at a reasonable price. This place is going to be a regular for my lunch outings.
