Catfish was delicious loved the hush puppies and Mac and cheese Glad I only got the 2 piece meal and not the 3. Was so full off just 2 pieces.
I had a great meal. The chicken and dumplings were plentiful and yummy. The fried Okra wasn't over fried or salted. The turnip greens were yum and that cornbread wasn't dry. I'd like to see some hoecakes, but I'm not sure if these FWB city folk client are that welcoming of something more country. Oh, I'm not on a salt watch diet, but I prefer foods more bland from less salt. I think their chicken and dumplings has just enough salt to keep it from being bland. Add more if you need to. The sweet tea is far from the diabetic levels of Mississippi sweet tea; just enough sugar.
Everything was delicious. The fried pork chops were cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was delicious, nothing processed. If you like vinegar the turnip greens are for you. There were sweet pickles in the potato salad (I always ask before ordering)! The prices are great for the portion size. They have a kids menu. The hamburger and fries are adult portions. As if that wasn't enough our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. My only regret is I don't live closer ?.
On vacation in Jacksonville Florida. Arrived very hungry. Found Mary's Kitchen on Google. It was rather nice, very country food. A delicious variety of cakes and tarts. Highly recommend. Great ladies to serve you with a happy welcoming smile.

We went to Mary's Kitchen on the recommendation of locals while visiting as Snowbirds in Fort Walton Beach. We were not disappointed and will be back again soon. Service from when we first entered until we left was excellent. Very customer oriented. Many good choices on the menu in addition to daily specials. We enjoy BBQ, and ordered the pulled port dinner. Was great. Very tasty and very moist. Tried their cherry pie. All pies are home made, and it was very tasty with a flaky crust. Delicious. Reasonably priced and the servings were generous. Try Mary's and you will not be disappointed.
My family and I love this place!There is not a bad item on the menu and the staff is incredibly friendly. It may not be the best looking place, but the experience more than makes up for it. We strongly recommend the pork chops - try one of each, grilled and fried.
When I don't feel like cooking but still want a home cooked meal this is my go to place. The food that I had on my last visit wasn't the best but I'm not going to base my review on that. Everything was decent except the pinto beans, which seemed to have been frozen but not warmed up well enough and some of the beans even seemed to be under cooked. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes either because I was expecting a traditional taste but the red potatoes didn't do that for me. This has been the only time that I've gone and didn't really care for something in my meal. I have been going there for years and I enjoy the food from the beef tips to the lasagna so there's no way I am going to ding them for this one time. And the staff is always lovely.
Great country cooking in the corner of the Mariner shopping plaza. Friendly pleasant staff. Not “fast food” but served faster than expected. Lunch specials with choice of two or three vegetables. Carrots are not too sweet and taste good, green beans are good too. Mac-n-cheese is Great ! :-). Corn bread is good. Coconut pie is great ! Beef tips are very good but I wish it had been slow cooked pot roast instead, but that’s just me. :-). I have been back, and I will be back !!! Helpful hint: they hold your check at register so don’t wait for it at table. :-)
I got my new years fix here at this place I was in town for the holiday and I had to find a place to get some soul food you know the greens and black eyed peas. The Shrimp were huge...Catfish was good. We had turnip greens, cabbage,and black eyed peas it hit the spot!!Very reasonably priced and service was great!!
