Found this gem on our way home from Disney. My son loves diners and Sweeties popped up. The menu agreed with everyone so we went a little out of the way and it was worth it. Chicken dumpling soup is fantastic! You can tell it’s homemade with big dumplings. We had chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, tuna melt and a bucket of fried chicken and EVERYTHING was terrific! The best part besides the food was the sign out front. They have photos of different sayings on the sign all through out the whole place. Most of them are hysterical and the rest were PSA’s. It’s a little ways off the highway but so worth it.
We left Okeechobee on Saturday morning for the Ft. Pierce farmers market and to do some thrifting. We saw Sweeties while heading towards P.S.L. Always open to a new place. Quintessential diner motif. Service was a bit slow but not to the point of irritation. They serve Pepsi products, which is good for me. My wife ordered pancakes and I ordered the spinach Blintz. The pancakes had a perfect brown crunch with the softest interior. Most likely the best pancakes ever. My Spinach blintz was really good and came with a side of hollandaise. Good food, Good service and a reasonable price.
To be honest, this place wasn’t that bad. Our waitress was nice and the food we had was not terrible. I liked my burger but the person I was with didn’t really care for her meatloaf. Our waitress did take 10% off our meal so that was nice. So really, I would rate this restaurant 4 stars but I want the owner to brutally insult me like he does with the other bad comments.
The food was pretty good. The waitress was pleasant, and on point. She even stopped by to check and make sure everything was good. They are short staffed so there was a bit of a wait. To be seated and get our food. However, it was a Sunday morning and they were busy. I’ve waited longer at other places. Their sign at the door is one of the best I have ever seen!!!
Absolutely fantastic, food was great and the waiting staff was some of the best I've ever seen. our waiter was fantastic he even recognized us the next day and remembered our drink orders. The statement when your at sweeties your home is a bold one but the staff and food make it one of the most welcoming dinners I've ever been in.
Our server was excellent and the food was great. We'd have been in sooner but a few of the comments on the sign in front were a bit too inflammatory and somewhat offensive. I know that won't be too popular an opinion, but it's just that, an opinion. Again, the food was great and the server was amazing.
Delicious food and fast service with a laid back environment.
crap food and service, not a place to bring your family and there are derogatory signs inside. this place just feels dirty, I strongly suggest avoiding this "diner"
My wife and I went there several times and liked the food in spite of the outrageous political messages and horrible images of the city mayor. then we had 2 very bad experiences there. The waiter seemed somehow agitated and was pretty rude the first time. The second time ended when he became so angry after I politely mentioned that everything about our order was wrong. I am not kidding when I say we left under duress as he insulted us.
Comfortable booths Outstanding food I’d recommend the spinach, Swiss cheese crepes with hollandaise sauce. Nice background music Friendly waitress Loy
