One of the blessings about traveling to do cooking shows around the country is finding hidden culinary gems: Local restaurants off the grid that are driven with passion while providing a killer meal. I found Costa Azul while doing a recent show in Port St. Lucie, FL. (My hotel was up the road in Ft. Pierce). If you love Mexican food and live or are visiting there, or are anywhere nearby, you have to check them out. It’s off the beaten track. Don’t let the location scare you off. Family run and made from scratch. This is the real deal.

We had the most delicious dinner, not fancy but the food that was cooked to perfection in a warm happy family restaurant. We certainly will return.

We have looked for a Mexican restaurant that serves good food, and is reasonably priced. Well THIS IS IT! We live in St Lucie West, so we hopped on I95 and we were there in 20 minutes. The restaurant is small, six tables, but very clean. Everyone there was warm and friendly. The food is prepared to order, not sitting there to reheat. The portions were plentiful, very tasty- I had beef chimichanga, hubby had fajitas. Plus beer and soda, while lunch was $23! Both meals came with rice, beans and salad. Plateful of food, all very tasty. We WILL be back after they re-open from vacation next week. Well worth the short trip.

Absolutely the best, fresh, homemade, Mexican food I have had in YEARS! The from scratch margaritas are worth the trip! Great family, great food....YUM!!!!we will be back...next week!!!❤️

We were in Winter Garden, Florida, vacationing from Michigan and wanted to meet cousins who live in Ft. Lauderdale and settled on Fort Pierce as a middle ground meeting up place. I googled for a restaurant in Fort Pierce and my eye caught Costa Azul. We were not disappointed to say the least. Excellent food, great service and just a wonderful, quiet place to have a famiy reunion. The owners were over the top friendly and served us well. The food is about the best Mexican food I have ever had. No one in our party was disappoined in their food choices. All agreed this was an excellente restaurant. It was a wonderful dinner at a wonderful restaurant. We definitely recommend this family owned business to anyone looking for a restaurant in the area. We give it 5 stars! Excellent! We drive all the way from Pahokee just to come here. Food is great and the staff is AMAZING!!!! It has been several months since we have been able to come and visit again and the staff remembered us after only coming once previously. Great attention to detail! Will be back again soon. This place is small but needs to be put on the map!!!

(Translated by Google) In this place the owner is always bitterA few months ago I visited this place and she cannot prepare some not so spicy chilaquiles; and she told me that she was the owner and prepared them for all the same(Original)En este lugar la dueña esta siempre de amargadaHace unos meses visite este lugar y ella no puedo prepararme una unos chilaquiles no tan picante; y me dijo que ella era la dueña y los preparaba para todos igual

I'd never been to the part of Fort Pierce where Costa Azul is located. From the moment we stepped in the door until the end of our dining experience, we had impeccable friendly service and incredibly good food. There are only a handful of seats, and the curb appeal was pretty much non-existent, but inside is a gold mine of delicious eats. The complimentary salsa and bean dip with warm chips was 10/10 delicious. Thanks for that! My husband had the Fajita Burrito and I tried the appetizer sampler platter with fried plantains, yuca fries, chicken quesadilla, guacamole, and flautas. OMG, it was all so delicious and the homemade salsas Costa Azul makes are unique and really flavorful. I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day and still left full. We will definitely be back again! We saw a dessert crepe with ice cream go by and though we were too full to try it, it looked amazing!!

One of my favorites but was away in nyc fir the last six months. Came back snd they were better than ever. Their spicy shrimp are authentic sbd jack heat. Cooking all meats and fish as you like it plus classics snd the best chicken soup you ever had. Best of all was their flan, tge best we have ever had and perfect endings to meals. Take sone hone

Y’all, this place is legit! Fresh chips, amazing food, creamy flan. I ordered the chilaquiles. Not sure what that stands for other than goodness! They do takeout too!
