The staff is very rude and short tempered not friendly at all and won’t be going back again!!!
The food is very good and tasty. The staff is very friendly. The give you your money's worth. You will be satisfied.
We stopped here for a takeout order of seafood. We got the Sonnie's Mix of crab, shrimp, potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, and corn, and the deep fried combination that included grouper, shrimp, hush puppies and fries. It took about 15 minutes for the food to be cooked, which wasn't unreasonable. We got more food than we expected! Both entrees could've fed at least two people. We split the fried entree first, and everything was excellent. Light, crispy, hot, and fresh! Then we took part of the Sonnies Mix out and split it between us. OMG everything was covered in butter and garlic, which was EXCELLENT. Everything in the Sonnies mix was flavored with garlic and butter and was really, really great! One order of that equals 3 big meals for us. Food was amazing, portions generous. Garlic-butter was outstanding. Will definitely go back for more!
This is not a 5-star restaurant if you are planning to eat here. There are about a half dozen tables, and diners get their food in the same cartons that carry-out customers get. However, if you are staying at a place that you can take the food back to, it is amazing. My wife and I were staying at a hotel that had tables on a patio overlooking the harbor. We got a bottle of wine at a local grocery and brought our seafood back to the hotel from the Trap House. We got the Sonny's Mix, which is supposed to have 2 snow crab clusters, 12 shrimp, and sausage, but it had 4 snow crab clusters, 6 shrimp, and no sausage, which we were thrilled with. Everything was amazing, and the spices were excellent. The only downside is that the corn was overcooked like so many seafood boil places.
Ignore the location and make a point of tasting the most delicious Cajun style with beau coup garlic seasoning, perfectly cooked stone crab, king crab, shrimp, lobster anywhere in Florida. Even beats Joe's Stone Crab. Messy and mouthwatering. We didn't talk for a full 20 minutes after our catering size pan arrived. Total silence as we dug into the heaping platter of goodness. While we waiting for our order, a steady clientele of take-out orders came and went, accounting for the delay. Worth waiting for, our order arrived with seasonings wafting to our nostrils as we dug in. Messy to the point of needing a sizable wad of paper towels. Yum yum.
Little hole in the wall establishment with great tasting seafood! Reasonably priced with good service. Not a big place so seating is limited but they do also have takeout. Been here several times and always a pleasure. Definitely a place to return to.
The reviews on yelp, so we thought we would give it a try. Glad we did. The food is excellent. Doesn’t look like a place you would go in from the outside. Plenty of food for a good price.
Love, love love this place. Huge portions. Crab legs, shrimp, potatoes and corn oozing in rich garlic butter. We usually go once a week. Small and unexpected. Very affordable. Go once and you'll be back.
You can eat in house but I recommend you take it to go because it’s going to get messy! I also suggest you eat outside because you will want to hose off before going back into the house! Yep, manners are off the table for this meal! We got The Perfect Storm and added extra snow crab and it was a feast for two! It was delicious! Who knew boiled eggs could be so good! It’s located in kind of a industrial area so don’t let that stop you. Codie at the counter will help you pick the perfect boil and is quite entertaining! I really think he loves his job! I do wish they had a Cajun offering because I think they would nail it!
Been 2 times and even though the website says open they are closed. You can run a business if you are not open.
