These dry rub ribs were some of the best we ever had. They were not fall of the bone ribs, but the flavor was all that. The rib tips were just as flavorful. The place doesn't look like much and you would probably drive by if you didn't know because there isn't even a sign, but it is a hidden gem. Only downside, it is meat and bread only, so make sure to pick-up or prepare you sides.
We visited for the first time this last week, and we ordered a slab of ribs for $25! The ribs were cooked perfectly, and the mild sauce was the right level of flavor for us! Highly recommend and get there early- we wanted to try the bbq chicken but it was already sold out.
I now understand why Black people do not support their own. As a Black man, I love some good barbecue. However, the service here is absolutely and positively horrible. Real southern barbecue is served with a smile. Just because you have good food doesn't mean you can treat people any kind of way. I recommend going across the bridge to Smoke N Pit. The white people are nicer than this little mean nasty funky Black man. A true example of why Black business is not supported by its own.
Found this place by literally smelling ribs cooking when we were at a red light. Saw some people going in this old building carrying out food containers...had to try it out and we turned in. Long story short it's the Best BBQ in SW Florida. Nothing fancy, cash only and white bread on the side. I'm going again tomorrow. Can't wait to let my lips smack me in the head!
I so much wanted to love the food here. It is pretty much ribs only. You walk in and think you will need a tetanus when you walk out. However, for me those are usually the best places to eat. We got a 1/2 rack of ribs to take home. First, the sauce was terrific loved the flavor. That, unfortunately, is where it ended for me. This slab was pulled off the smoker to soon. The meat was very tough and in no way fell off the bone. With all the good reviews I may give it one more shot, but I was really disappointed this time.

Been eating these ribs most of my life. We had family in from California and had to take them. Everyone loved it!
I wish I had pictured but we ate it all so fast. If you are looking for amazing fall off the bone ribs or chicken then this is the place. The prices are so good and the food is even better. If your looking for a caterer for your next BBQ he can do that too. All you will need to do is make the sides. I highly recommend you give McCarters a try you will not be disappointed and will come back again and again.
