We had a party of 14 and had a reservation. We were seated quickly and had Jay for our waiter. He was friendly and quickly got our drink orders. I think almost everyone was very happy with their food but the filet for 2 people as not cooked to their liking. Other then that it was a very enjoyable dinner and I for one will definitely go back.
I’ve been to the lighthouse last three Mothers day’s and the price was always reasonable. This year we went and for me wife three young kids the bill was 245 after they added the tip before the bill came to me. This wasn’t like crab and lobster it was the same thing they always put out. Boiled shrimp prime rib steak potatoes omelet bar. I was at Jackson’s last week and they have an amazing spread and it was 38 an adult with amazing views. This was a total ripoff I’ll never be back. Paid probably 45 dollars and my kid ate scrabbled eggs and a piece of bread.
Food was excellent!! Loved the Fried Alligator and Island Conch Cerviche for appetizer. The fried calamari appetizer was also good but watch out for the jalapeños. Also, had the Bone-In Pork Chop which was juicy, tender, and very tasty. Also had the Unicorn Fish prepared the Island Tropical way which was fantastic!! Would highly recommend this place.
This higher-end open-air restaurant is located right on the river in Fort Myers. Really beautiful location. The food is decent as well. A solid four stars. I went with a group of friends from our senior village. I ordered French onion soup and the mussels in white sauce. The heaping bowlful of mussels was plenty for me to make a meal out of. They were swimming in a cream sauce with a hint of fennel. Very good. My husband ordered grouper (market price!). Very tasty. Eat here as much for the atmosphere as for the meal. They also sell nice quality tee shirts and hoodies.
Atmosphere is Excellent... There was a Duet playing near the Bar. I sat @ the Bar & asked for a recommendation on an appetizer from the the Bartender Sarah who ALSO waited tables.. She told me the the Seafood Flatbread appetizer was excellent... & IT WAS...I also had a glass of Merlot which was very good
Snotty waitress and poor service. Food quality poor. You had to "know about the rolls" because they were not allowed to tell you they were available. Hostess's dress too tight and so short you could have seen her underwear if she hadn't kept pulling the dress down.
So disappointed. Been here many times and brought other people. Beautiful setting. My husband got oysters on halfshell.never have I seen anything so large served as raw on the shell. The Chef should be ashamed to have sent them out. I got their New Zealand Lamb. If the chops were any smaller I would not have found them! I swear not bigger than a quarter! The waiter had the personality of a wet dish rag(man). I told our waiter and a hostess as we left and got a shoulder shrug. The noise in there with just the people was dealing. Then music started. We will not be returning. I know prices are high, I know they are trying to make up for the past couple of years. I don't mind paying for a decent meal. But not 144.00 for 2 people 2 drinks and crap. We should have sent things back. I hate to do that. And after complaining not even I will pass this on for you. We just won't go again. I am saddened.
We came here for lunch just after 11 when the restaurant opened. We got a nice outside table overlooking the water. The service was good. My partner went for the dipped beef sandwich which she said was shaved prime rib and delicious. It came with a jus and some fries. I had a Blackened grouper sandwich which also came with fries. Again very good, no complaints . Prices about average I would say. I’d be happy to come back again.
We went back to this restaurant that I warmly reviewed in 2009 really looking forward to experiencing it again. The location is still stunning, the decor has been changed but it now seems somehow lacklustre. It wasnt clean. But worse still is the quality of the food, and drinks served. We were seated promptly, and quickly given scruffy menus, but our waitress went for some drinks for us in a timely fashion. Our drinks were served in what looked like very dirty plastic 'glasses' see picture. We studied the somewhat strange menu (everything seems to have been given an odd kind of personal twist by the 'chef', and that detracts from the basic principals of what should be served a sea side restaurant . They should be serving plainly cooked beautifully fresh fish, and seafood dishes, with simple garnish which is better than 'out of a tin and played about with' very over complicated stuff. (Gordon Ramsay needs to come here and give the whole place a rework back to what it should be about). Whilst we pondered about what to do for a main course, we ordered their lobster bisque soup as a starter. Frankly it seemed to be out to be out of a supermarket tin and was slung at us with a couple of plastic packet crackers rather than some nice freshly baked bread rolls as it once was here., As we looked around at the other tables near us for ideas, we noticed that three other separate parties were just playing with their food, pushing it round the plates rather than eating it. And the occupants of each of them were muttering under their breath to each other. We continued to study the 'over comlicated' menus, as one of the tables in the window (an older couple) finally called over the server, and appeared to be complaining about the food. The Manager was sent for and he came to join them at their table side, and then a 'set to' began where it was obvious that the customers were blatently very unhappy. Instead of just saying 'sorry' to them and asking 'What can we do to make things better', the manager appeared to be admonishing them for not accepting what had been put before them. The distinguished guy, who was the customer, calmly at one point picked up what appeared to be a steak and waved it at the manager to show him that it was stiff as a board. It turned out to be meatloaf !!! The guy, who was very nice and reasonable, actually tapped it on the edge of the plate at one point like it was made of wood. Still the manager told him that that was how they served it in there. As that customer left the premises and came past our table I spoke to him, and he told me that the meatloaf was dry as heck and burned to a crisp, and and the manager guy told him 'that was the our the customers liked it there'. Another table to the other side of us had ordered burgers. We watched as they muttered to each other and the lady said to her husband at the end "Don't make a fuss just leave it" They did. A further table for three people played with their meals, and as we left we noticed that they had not eaten very much at all of what was on their plates either. Our server seemed not at all surprised when we decided not to order any main courses. We chose to just pay the check and leave. Clearly she is used to that happening. The bar area, which is in another adjoining 'open plan' room, was very rowdy throughout. With several 'serious drinkers' shouting across the bar and 'rough housing' at each other, whilst a loud, very mediocre, live musical offering was being blared out on substandard audio equipment. Very Sorry to have to say this, but the magic of this formerly 'classy' delightful destination has gone.! I would like to think they might care about this revue and the sad changes that I noticed there from my last visit. But ... I supect that management will not!
So glad we found this place. Was able to get right in at 4:30 (they don’t take reservations). Offered seating inside or out. Was proactively told the sun would be strong if we sat outside, which was very nice of the Hostess. We chose the air conditioned inside and was seated by the window with great views of the Harbour and Yachts. Food was reasonably priced and delicious! Photos tell all.
