This was our first experience to Fancy's Southern Cafe. We chose the chicken potpie based on a recommendation of a friend and I had the meatloaf. Our sides were mac and cheese, sweet potato souffle and mashed potatoes and gravy. When our meals came out they were very hot but are side dishes or either cool or still frozen in the middle. We told the waitress and she immediately took them back to the kitchen for a reheat. The problem with that is we were finished with our main courses and then our sides came and we were really full and had a hard time finishing our sides. I had finished my dinner first , and the waitress came and took my dish asked me if I wanted to dessert and I said no, I was full but my husband was still eating. She immediately brought the check. She also never asked him if he wanted to Desert . I felt so rushed at that point maybe I did want a cup of coffee but I was so upset but this whole ending I just wanted to leave . This is totally unprofessional in our opinion.
I highly recommend Fancy's Southern cafe. Beautiful atmosphere, inside/Outside dining. The Staffis wonderful. The chicken and Waffles, Iare some of the best I have ever had???
Nice atmosphere, great food! We had the fried okra for an appetizer. It came with a nice dipping sauce. For dinner, I had the filet, collard greens and sweet potato souflet. The filet was great - cooked perfect! The greens were amazing. I think I'd pass on the sweet potatoes. The country fried steak was huge and delicious! She had it with mashed potatoes and gravy & a salad - all perfection! Third meal was meatloaf with mashed potatoes & salad. All wonderful. Then we had kids Mac and cheese and green beans that were also huge portions and also delicious! All in all - wonderful! You must check it out!
First time here. Passed by many times with the intention to always stop in. Really glad we decided to stop in today. Drinks (French 75 and Smoky Old Fashioned) were amazing! The food..had fried green tomato appetizer and chicken pot pie lunch entree..one word..WOW! They also have salad and other options. Let's note too..Damon our bartender/server so cool, polite and really down to earth! Love the laid back and southern hospitality vibe here! So coming back and consider this our new favorite place!
Went there for a late lunch. Delighfully suprised. My wife had the fried chicken. It was very good. A light batter that was not greasy. I had the shrimp po boy. Best I have had. Thought I was in New Orleans. Shrimp were large and cooked just right. Reasonably priced for quality of food.
Savanah is the best. love the ribs and sweet potatoe cassarole.
After reading all the great reviews I stopped by for dinner. Very nice, cozy, and rustic place. Servers were nice and friendly. The food was very presentable, fresh, and cooked well. Unfortunately looks can be very deceiving; I really wanted to like this place.First the rustic decor is not an excuse to avoid cleaning. There’s cob webs everywhere, the air vents are filthy, and the window/blinds are full of dirt and dust. If you’re going to have a table against a window, at least clean the window regularly since customers will be looking at the window throughout their visit. The food looked very nice and presentable, they were all fresh and cooked properly but lacked seasoning. There was no seasoning what-so-ever on anything not even salt.
Disappointed! Hidden away in a small strip mall . The staff were nice and friendly. The fried okra a wonderful. The breading was just right and didn’t overpower the okra. It was the highlight of the meal. The jumbo shrimp in the shrimp and grits turned out to be 4 in number and about an inch wide. Disappointed! Grits were good. The fried chicken was the smallest piece of chicken I have ever seen and we eat out a lot! While the flavor of the chicken was good I didn’t know they even sold chickens that small, will not be returning!
Absolutely, marvelous comfort food! Fried chicken, Mac n cheese, tomato soup, etc. was shear perfection. The red devils food cake was delicious as well. Not very ADA accessible. Again, service a bit slow, but food comes out right away. It appeared as though they did have enough help, but again we can consider COVID
If I could rate this place a zero I would. Firstly this venue is not ADA complient. I am handicapped and couldn't use the bathroom. I wanted liver and onions but they were out of it six pm. I ordered the country fried steak and it was AWFUL. I got sick and through up in front of the restaurant.m The breading was slimy and too thick. It had a funny taste. I'm from Texas and know good country fried steak which I've had all over the United States. I do not recommend this joint to anyone. Rating... awful.
