The hotel was exceptionally clean and everyone was very attentive and nice. The air conditioning worked extremely well and had all of the normal toiletries available. It was a bit misleading to see them advertise spa services and Bistro dining as they do not have these places on site. The Bistro serves as the coffee shop that is located in the lobby, but we enjoyed our experience here.
On April 2nd, our flight from Fort Myers to Minneapolis was cancelled along with many other flights. We scrambled to find a hotel due to high demand and I booked a room through my Marriot App as I have been a member for many years. Our family (and my extended family) spend $100's in Ubers to get to this hotel so our families could have a place to sleep while we rescheduled our flights for 3 days later. We arrived and the hotel overbooked by 40+ rooms leaving us without a room while other hotels were being booked and no longer had availability. It was the worst travel experience I've ever had and the worst I've ever had with Marriot. At the very least, I'd expect some more remorse or consideration than an "I'm sorry." Instead, families found support in one another instead of Marriot to find support and other hotels to accomodate our stay. I would expect more from a company like Marriot as a respected hotel chain. I will be switching to another hotel rewards program after this experience.
This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There's mold on the curtain to the window, I've seen numerous spills and trash around the hotel that did not get cleaned over the three days I stayed, no complimentary breakfast, no microwave, no safe, the most basic of channels to watch, dust on every surface, dirty walls and closet doors, unknown filth on night stand coffeemaker, side table and they have the guts to charge $200 - $400 a night. Avoid this place at all cost.
Over 10 years staying in Marriot & Hilton - first time writing a review. No breakfast… No safe… No microwave…The final bill is not as promised from the site?….yes, it when up over $300. ??? (No , we didn’t purchase anything) it was eventually corrected. The water pressure is real guys… low pressure in the shower also; it can take up to 15 minutes to wash your face. The mattress is old. No blankets, when we ask, we got a thin old raggedy one (we kept it on the sofa) could not use it.This hotel is a NO NO for me.
We were so disappointed in our stay at this hotel. We have stayed at many Marriott hotels in the past and have never written a bad review before at any hotel ever, but the practices at this hotel are concerning. Giving this hotel 1 star is probably being generous on our part. We booked this hotel several months prior to our vacation and received an email confirmation with our hotel rate and the total amount for our stay. Upon arriving we were told that the rate had increased by $600 for our weeks stay from our original booking!! We showed the desk clerk our confirmation email with our booking rate and she said there was nothing she could do to correct the amount and that the sales staff had a meeting and decided to change the rates because of it being peak season. We asked her to show us on our confirmation where it stated that you can just change hotel rates anytime you want after booking. She had no response. The clerk stated she could not adjust the rate back even though she could see on the computer the rate we had originally booked it at. We contacted Marriotts customer service to file a complaint and were told that they would have someone contact us and nobody ever called or emailed us back. After much frustration on getting a response from Marriott or the hotel staff and after finding our room and sheets covered in bugs, we checked out after 2 nights. We gave the hotel 24 hour notice before checking out and also told the hotel clerk about the bug problem. The next day we checked our bank statement and found out the hotel had charged us $1700 for a 2 night stay! Again, we had to call customer service and file a complaint because our receipt upon check out was for a 2 night stay. We travel often and really are not picky people but the actions of this hotel are clearly just plain wrong!!
The room was nice but the carpets are worn. Went to take a shower and the water pressure in the shower was non-existent, so I wasn't able to take a shower. We were supposed to get a grab and go breakfast but when I went to get them, the girl said I wasn't on the list. So we didn't get breakfast. If we are back in the area I don't think I will stay here again. The people at the desk when we checked in were very nice but the lady in the morning paid no attention that we couldn't get our breakfast after I asked about it and there was no one else at the desk.
As a Bonvoy Marriott Gold member this has been the absolute worst Marriott experience we have ever experienced. We do not have basic amenities such as towels. We have been left without water multiple times along with many other issues including a moldy/musty smelling room. We have had loud unruly porous with kids running around the hotel past midnight. HORRRIBLE. Tom the GM is absolutely the worst. He told me and I wasn't even happy about that he would give me 10,000 marriott points which has not been done. I also am not receiving my marriot points for 4 of the 5 nights I stayed there. Such a waste of time and I will be filing an additional complaint with Bonvoy as Tom has not returned my phone call I have now left 2 messages. Do not stay at this property
My family had the worst experience ever!!!! I booked a suite 4 months in advance and was given a regular double bed when I arrived. When I questioned it they said the room I originally booked was changed and given to another guest because on my reservation I only indicated 1 guest. For many years, on a monthly basis, I always book Marriott for my sons travel tournaments on their online app. I always book a room with 2 doubles and a pull out sofa to fit my family. NEVER in all these years have I had en experience where my reservation is changed without my consent or consideration. As you can imagine, my family of 6 did not fit in this room. The poor lady in the front had no words for me other than she was sorry and couldn’t do anything about this. The provided a twin pull out bed that 2 of us has to share. They charged me the price of a suite instead of a standard room. To make a long story short, Don’t trust your online reservations. Call and make sure they don’t give your already chosen room to whoever they want. Their lack of professionalism and integrity went out the door with this awful experience.
Room was reasonably clean. Layout was strange. Location is convenient to everything we wanted to visit in Ft. Myers.Sadly, they placed us directly next to an entrance door that everyone let slam - keeping us awake all night. Do yourself a favor. If they assign you room 115, ask for a different room or find another place to stay. That being said, the 1 or 2 staff members I interacted with were nicely personable.
Perfect place when you have tickets to the Murder Mystery train. Close by and the package deal includes a great breakfast at no charge. Very nice front desk clerk. Lidea, I believe her name was. Super accommodating!! Thank you!!
