The wife and I wanted to Try Cantina 109 for a early lunch Sunday at around Noon. We saw the sign that had the daily specials and the Sunday special was fajitas and 2 margaritas for 30something dollars. we didn't know it was one fajita for 2 people to share so we both had a light lunch to say the least.however the food was really good, our waitress was great and checking on us frequently.I gave four stars for the possible miscommunication on their part or misunderstanding on our part.Overall: good place to eat and great service
This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. The only reason I am even giving it 3 stars is because our server was super friendly and nice and did a great job. That being said my meal was gross and I only ate a few bites. I ordered the taco salad with shredded chicken. I was fine with the fact that the lettuce was all iceberg but I was not fine with the fact that the "shredded chicken" seemingly came out of a can, and wasn't even drained. I opted not to use any dressing but somehow the bottom of the bowl was full of liquid. This was one of the most disappointing salads I've ever had.Should have probably noticed the red flag that there was hardly anyone in this restaurant ...
Ok, I am fussy. I do not like restaurants that are not clean. We were seated at a booth where I had to wipe debris off the cushion. Sat down and picked up the large cardboard menu. Oops! A bit sticky, but not as bad as the table. Really sticky. Come on folks! The dining experience suffers when management doesn't pay attention. The solution should be obvious: Alert staff to be on the lookout for unsanitary conditions. Hope this helps.
Trendy Tex-Mex fare in a busy shopping mall. We had the Tableside Guacamole which they make right in front of you. That was a fun experience, and totally customizable to how it's prepared per your tastes. Huge tequila selection if you want to try something new, or an old favorite. We had the Seafood enchiladas (which my wife enjoyed), and I had the Chicken & Steak Wet Fajitas. It comes in one of the big stone pots, so it was very hot, but the premise of the "wet" dishes here means you spoon the sauce the meat & veggies are cooked in over, or in your dish (in the case of fajitas). I just found the experience to be quite messy, and the sauce not as tasty as you would think it would be.I would say this veers more along the lines of overpriced Mexican food, and unless you're drinking, you're probably better off getting food elsewhere for this type of cuisine.
Started out slow service at 445 pm , place was packed. No Corona Light at 445 pm. Anyway settled for domestic bucket. Oh well. It was a limited 5/5 menu so once we placed the order it came out fast with the food runners. Food and service once we ordered was excellent. Lost one circle for no corona light at 445 pm on Cinco
We’ve been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. We’re snowbirds and though that’s not always the most popular with some, we’ve always been treated like family at Cantina. The staff is friendly and the manager Mike is second to none. The food is really good. We’ve enjoyed salad and full entrees. The margaritas are definitely made with skill and are consistently delicious. Good location, ambiance, polite staff, great food and drinks…. can’t beat it. We’ll absolutely be back.
EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE, LOTS OF STAFF STANDING AROUND . Not really authentic Mexican. Very over priced. Won't return based on slow service, high price.
Poor Waiter, food wasn’t very desirable. Order was not right, overcharged.
such a joy finding a Mexican restaurant that understands gluten free. we were blown away by the flavors. pam was a great waitress and colin did a great job with the table side guacamole. looking forward to coming back soon. so many more great things to try.
Had smoked pork tacos with red rice. Very good! Server Olivia was friendly, professional and attentive. Inside seating was somewhat noisy but we had a corner booth, so could converse. Great place for food, service and atmosphere.
