I dined in on Monday and received excellent service as always. Endless lunch is a must! Jeannie was on top of everything. Will be back again!
The sushi and sashimi are excellent. But the service is outstanding. Great place.
I ordered the Korean beef. I've never had waygu before and was really excited. Weird because it tastes and feels just like cheap stew meat you'd get from the grocery store. I guess my expectations were too high because to be honest it was not good at all. Way too much money for very mediocre meat. And it was $22.00. What a rip off. Why are you lying to people about the beef. It's not anything but cheap flank steak. What a waste of time. I'll never be back and tell everyone I know to avoid at all costs. It was a lot more like beef curry..this trashy plate of food shouldn't cost more that $8.00
their waygu sirloin was just cheap flank steak.
I love Blu Sushi, have been enjoying it since2016 and I always recommend it to close friends and family. I usually go to the McGregor location but today I wanted to be in Downtown and unfortunately will never be coming back. My party and I were treated with unnecessary hostility by some of the staff and the manager Denise. Denise was very condescending during my interaction with her and showed no interested in providing the minimal hospitality for her guest. My last interaction here as been highly disappointing and I will no longer support or recommend this business. The quality of the food for this location is mediocre and will now go somewhere else for sure.
Just called to place a late night carry out order (at 10:15 pm) when they close at 11:30 pm. The young girl who answered the phone was rude when she told me that the “kitchen is closed” and when I questioned her on the fact that it was an hour and 15 minutes before they closed she abruptly cut me off and said “yeah we’re not taking any to go orders, bye” and hung up on me. I know it’s frustrating to receive a late night call, but this is really unacceptable and unprofessional. The downtown location is ALWAYS rude and with very poor customer service. The management needs to reconsider the staffing and training. Update your Google listing to reflect your kitchen operating hours.EDIT: I was so miffed that I called at 10:30 to speak to the manager just to see if that was the truth; it turns out that the girl lied to me. The manager said the kitchen closed at 10:45 and I was able to place my order. The manager was apathetic at best and when I went to pick up the order, she barely addressed the issue. Nothing gratis or anything to make amends. I left a $20 tip and left because I don’t need any bad karma in my life. I just won’t be returning to this location.
Blu makes you feel like you are eating sushi by the sea with its nautical team. House salad was fresh crispy and inviting. The Kanisu which is a difficult cucumber roll to make was fresh and well put together plus the rainbow roll was tasteful and perfectly rolled, Jody was the sweetest waitress despite how busy she was
Hoping it was just an off day, as we always had good food here. We started out waiting 20 minutes for our drinks. Our waitress kept saying the bartender was backed up, but they were not that busy. The food came out first, our edamame and tuna rolls. The rolls smelled bad and tasted bad. There was no soy sauce, no wasabi, no ginger, just 2 small bad looking rolls. My wife and I both took a bite and said no way, this is bad. When we finally saw our waitress she apologized but offered no recourse. I told her to just cancel the drink order. I asked for the bill and we were charged $32.00 for edamame and rolls we didn't eat. I should have complained but we know that restaurants are struggling for good help and I didnt want to get into a argument. Ruined our lunch date but life could be much worse. We went next door to Scoops for ice cream.
I’m not sure if it depends on the location you go to but my experience was super underwhelming, service was really slow, appetizers came out kind of warm but not hot at all. The Sushi was probably the worst part of the whole experience overall, I’m not sure if people just don’t know what sushi is supposed to taste like but all the sushi we ordered had zero flavor just drowned in sauce. The rice didn’t have any sushi vinegar flavor at all just very grainy. Presentation also was super disappointing especially when your paying high prices for it. We also ordered a sashimi platter which we also couldn’t finish because it made us physically sick I had to ask for the bill early before I had to leave urgently. Don’t go if you crave something other than deep fat fried americanized sushi filled with tempura to mask the low quality. Go to Ichiban down the street, MUCH more worth the cost!
Super service from Jody! Denise the manager was very friendly and both women were very professional and helpful in making suggestions. Two thumbs up! I’ll be back?
