The cake was absolutely delicious. However shipping was HORRIBLE! Not enough dry ice. The cake arrived warm & had slid to the side of the cake box. The top flowers were mashed down. I really had to decorate to hide the flaws. This was my 2nd order. The first was perfect. This one..huge dissapointment
Fabulous Flower Cupcakes - so beautifully decorated and delivered on time and in perfect condition. They were a huge hit!! No one has ever seen anything as creative. Only the note was missing which caused some confusion.
I went to We Take the Cake on Monday, June 6, 2022 because the bakery I normally use is closed on Mondays. Anyway, I was immediately greeted by Damaris. I needed a cake that day for a birthday. She said it was no problem as long as I didn’t need a specialty cake. I said I thought I just needed a Red Velvet Cake. She said they had them, but asked if I had tried their Strawberry Cake with strawberry chunks inside the cake. I had not. I purchased a strawberry cupcake to sample it. DELICIOUS!!! I purchased the cake. I also purchased 4 Red Velvet Cupcakes (just in case). The write Happy Birthday on a little sugar plaque on the cake. Damaris made everything so easy & fun! While I waited for the “Happy Birthday” plaque, I sampled some lemon cake they had out for that purpose— also delicious! Thank you, Damaris for saving the day and making this shopping experience absolutely delightful! Plus, the delicious Strawberry Birthday Cake and Red Velvet cupcakes were hits with everyone! Fantastic cakes with fantastic customer service!
I was so excited when I ordered a chocolate cake with pink frosting roses for my daughter’s college graduation party. It arrived late, not their fault, but in terrible condition with tight plastic wrap that completely smashed the flowers and not enough packaging to protect the cake. Because it was delivered late, there was not enough time to buy another cake. To make matters worse, their customer service is terrible as other reviewers have noted. They absolutely refused to refund my wasted $85. My advice, don’t support this company by ordering anything from them. UPDATE: After this posting, they did own up and issue a refund.
Arrived home to find a box with a beautifully wrapped cake for my birthday. Thought it was nice gesture, but how good could it be? Well, it was very good and that is why I am doing this review. The candles were a perfect touch!!
I love cupcakes and I always wanna try a new experience. These were pretty expensive but I wanted to treat myself. When they arrived they were already thawed out completely and slightly cold. I did not refreeze them because they were already thawed out so I placed them in fridge. They were beautifully decorated and packaged. Honestly the cream was too sweet and didn’t have much of a taste. And the cake especially the chocolate one was not moist-kind of dry. I don’t know If the temperature changes affected the taste but this is my honest opinion. What a shame I really wanted to like them.
Great cake, great customer service. My wife and I were in Ft. Lauderdale for our anniversary. I did a search for gluten free cakes prior to coming to Florida and this place came up. I called and told them what I wanted. They were very friendly and accommodating. I paid for the cake ahead of time and they set up a time for me to pick it up. We picked it up on a Friday and went back to the hotel. My wife was very surprised and dove right into it as soon as we got back. The cake was delicious!!! It was moist and tasteful, if I did not know it was gluten free I would not have known.FYI: They are not a certified gluten free bakery so if you are Celiac,this may not work for you.
I purchased several items from them the last few years, both directly and via Williams-Sonoma. My most recent purchase was delivered on time, but was completely thawed and with the icing off the cake. I contacted We Take The Cake and they quickly responded and said they would issue a gift card for a replacement and told me to watch for a separate email. I was satisfied with their handling of the issue.After watching my email for a week and checking my SPAM folder, I reached out to them again on the status. To date, a few weeks later I have never heard back. I’m surprised after their initial positive response that they are now ghosting me. I know they sell there products via several high end websites, and would not expect this from a company that portrays itself as a top tier business. Buyer beware.
Ordered the Peanut Butter Cup cake for my sisters 40th Birthday. She lives in Florida and we weren’t able to travel to celebrate. I was able to have this cake shipped to her. It arrived in perfect condition and on time! She said it was so delicious and perfect! Thank you for helping make her day special even when family couldn’t be close!! Will definitely order again!!!
