Our large group thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the Katherine Restaurant. Excellent, friendly service. For a gourmet restaurant where food is prepared to order, we were impressed at how quickly our food was served. Each dish was unique and varied. We enjoyed all the food we sampled, and we tried a nice sampling of the menu. This is a delicious gourmet restaurant!

WOW !!! Hidden treasure in a the heart of down town Fort Lauderdale. Service was impeccable. Food quality was outstanding and delicious. Clean and classy place. Cozy and romantic at the same time perfect for family dinner. Highly recommend this restaurant, the chef, and the staff. Will definitely be returning.

Wow. Just wow!! 10/10 and I would come back again and again. Tim and Katherine are so hospitable, so accommodating, and just want you to enjoy the food and atmosphere. Josh helped pic out a delicious wine and was extremely patient and kind to all our questions and concerns. We will be back 100%. Thank your The Katherine!

We had dinner last night at The Katherine and it was everything we expected and more, the food, the ambiance and the staff were all incredible. If you are a foodie like us, you will definitely appreciate the eclectic and exciting variety of food. We shared multiple dishes: whipped ricotta, tuna crispy rice, chicken wings, Thai style charred cabbage salad (one of our favorites), lamb orecchiette, etc. and very much enjoyed each of them. We also had the pleasure of meeting Timon (chef and owner). He went around to each table and warmly greeted every person; it felt as if he was welcoming you into his home. He shared the concept of his restaurant of sourcing fresh local ingredients to create new dishes, which means every visit to The Katherine will be an exciting new experience. We are looking forward to going back very soon!

Last night my friends and I ended up at the Katherine to celebrate a bachelorette party. We had just flown in from Canada to celebrate and had an awful experience at a restaurant close by. After leaving in search of a new place to celebrate this occasion, we stumbled upon the Katherine. I’m pretty sure it was fate as it was a night that will not be forgotten. From the service, to the food, to the atmosphere, I was consistently blown away. Both Katherine and our server Adam were so friendly and welcoming. The food is to die for. Every plate was delicious and I particularly loved the sticky tuna rice. And they have the cutest outdoor garden patio that created the best vibe for our party. Katherine, if you ever get a chance to read this, I want to say a big thank you to you and your team for making this night so special for us. We will be sure to come back next time we’re in town! And to those reading this don’t hesitate to try this place! It’s great

Yum. Cute spot. Happy to see something open in the old foxy brown. The menu here is very different. We appreciated the diverse options. The wine was yummy. The fries and clam chowder were out of this world. The shrimp was Delicious. Highly recommend. Chef Tim is nice to talk to and very talented. ??

Arrived late for reservation and was given a table even though we had reserved the bar. The bar seats were impossible to sit on so uncomfortable I respect and thank them for allowing us to sit at a table during a busy time. The waitress was very attentive wine list unimpressive didn't really know any of the wines. The food was very good but the area is too congested and the restaurant feels a bit too high energy and too noisy for my taste. It's definitely a hip young urban scene. Nice to have this option in Fort Lauderdale. Would have liked the clam chowder separately from the fries I didn't really get that combination, fries too soggy. Definitely above average elevated food but didn't really meet my expectations. Super casual. For the distance we came from , it wasn't worth returning. Would go back if I lived in the area.

Finally Fort Lauderdale gets a globally inspired restaurant from a James Beard nominated chef with great service and a warm atmosphere! This place is a joy and everything is thoughtfully planned, prepared, and plated. Only had the appetite to try 3 items but can’t wait to try everything on the menu. Plantains are berserk. Very good wine too. Do not miss. Josh at the bar is a hoot and is a wealth of knowledge.

The food is wonderful. Be aware it's "tapas style," which seems to be code for "we'll bring out your food in whatever order we feel like, not when you'd prefer it or when it makes sense." This can be an issue if you're looking for a traditional restaurant service experience. We had dinner here recently and one person ordered 2 appetizers, clearly stating one was for her "dinner" course. The 2 items arrived together, when no one else had anything to eat - so she was eating all this food by herself which I think made her feel uncomfortable. It certainly made me uncomfortable. If everyone wants to share everything and doesn't care when any of it comes out I can see this working out fine. That's not usually the case for me.

We were greeted and sat right away for our reservation. Server was very nice and asked about allergies, which we specified yes there was a mushroom allergy. We were not aware that they did not serve mixed drinks so ordered the natural wine by the glass, for $16/ per glass, it was 2 fingers of wine and not very good. The appetizers we ordered were very small for 4 of us. The ricotta appetizer came with 2 pieces of bread which were really 1 piece of bread cut in half barely enough for 4 of us. bland no real flavor to it. the pork and onion had very little pork and lots of onions. Wings were ok nothing great. Then the steak came out with mushrooms which we had specified there was a mushroom allergy at the table. Sorry to say we would not go back right away. We wish them well and hope they improve on some of the shortcomings.
