I got mom and pop vibes. It was good food. I paid $25 for my meal as a treat for myself. I did not go during buffet hours. Super quiet. Felt bad how quiet it was, so I’m leaving a review to help them out.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2001. The food is good. And I’ve left 5 star reviews before because of the food. But, today I’m leaving a 2 star review because of the service. The manager for today, Bobby, was extremely rude. I called and told the man that answered the phone that I wanted to place an order. He misunderstood me and thought I was asking if my order was ready. I tried explaining that I wanted to place an order. He still misunderstood. Not a problem. There’s a language barrier, but we were both being patient and I knew we would figure it out. Then Bobby comes on the phone and tells me to “calm down” because the other man didn’t understand. I told him that I wasn’t out of control and didn’t mind him not understanding and was trying to explain it to him. He told me to calm down again and told me I was yelling. I told him that I wasn’t yelling at all. (As someone who has a hearing issue I may speak louder than some because I can’t hear as well, but you can tell the difference between yelling and talking louder.) when I asked who the manager was he told me it was him and then threatened to not have my order ready. He also wouldn’t give me the GM’s info. I’ve always been polite and tipped well in the 20+ years I’ve been coming to this restaurant, but I have never been treated with such disrespect and inconsideration.
We like this place for its authentic Thai food (we can read the Thai menu). Nice staff. Will come back and recommend anyone to come!
I have been going to this restaurant for 25 yrs. Siam is more authentic than many of the restaurants out there who serve thai and sushi....such and American thing and tend to over load their dishes with sugar and salt (american taste). Siam has a small luncheon buffet for 13.99 and well worth it. Everyday there is a soup, salad w/peanut dressing, fried Bannanas or fried spring rolls or fried wonton...there is always white and brown rice, a noodle dish (pad Thai or clear noodles -woonsen), sautéed vegetables, and two meat dishes (one chicken the other beef or pork) these meat dishes are either basil or cashew and always a curry...and on Fridays one of the meat dishes is substituted for Fried Fish Curry. I see someone said the staff is always fast and trying to get you out. This is not true. They are efficient, and yes you better get there for the buffet before 2...because they start clearing at 2. The buffet opens at 11:30 and I suggest you come in enough time to eat leisurely. Even after I have paid the check, I still sit and sip tea.
Excellent Thai buffet lunch
Lunch buffet up to 13.99 now. Service still unfriendly and rushed. They shut down the buffet before 2pm, and still hurry you out with the check. Small buffet with limited selection, and a school cafeteria-style server there that loads your plate. Not a fan of that setup. Left to wash my hands in the bathroom, and returned to find my table already cleared. Had planned to have another sip of water, and browse the menu for dinner takeout. So much for that. Booo.
Visited this place on a whim and had a fantastic experience. They were very accommodating for a vegetarian diet and we ended up ordering the stir fry dish multiple times! Also enjoyed the red curry and vegetable fried rice. Hope to be back soon!
It wasn’t on the menu but I asked for Drunken Noodles and they made it anyway, and it was great!
The pad thai was so bland, it was really disappointing - almost no been sprouts or green onions, it was just noodles, chicken and crushed peanuts - I don't understand how it could have absolutely no flavor. The Pad See Lew had more flavor but that was just soy sauce - having said that the prices are VERY good - least expensive Thai food for miles around - but even so, it was such a let down. It's lovely inside, the staff friendly and wonderful, but just the most bland thai food we've had in ages.
Excellent food! We ordered the Pad Bai Kaprow and the Gaeng Masamun. So delicious and beautifully presented! The restaurant had a few tables outside, so we were able to enjoy our meal outdoor. Can't wait to go back!
