Expensive? Yes. For the crab lover in me, SO GOOD! Try a different dish each time we go. I prefer eating outside, even on a hot day. The dining room is too dark for my preference and when a birthday is celebrated the pounding of the mallets on the tables can get exasperating after the second round. The service is hit and miss, so leave your high expectations in the car. PS - eating and enjoying the crab you pound and crack is fun and messy. Give a heads up to your date if it's a first date and it's their first visit. Bring your own seafood scissors - no seafood crackers on the table. You get a mallet and picks.
My husband said it was some of the best oysters he ever has eaten. They were huge. My chicken was very very good. Very casual restaurant with a nice view of the water. Would visit again if in the area.
This unique place has been here as long as I can remember!Great place for family’s, dates and everything in between!Situated nicely with water views.Seating outside and also inside.Very busy.Don’t be fooled this place is not cheap!We had the king crab legs , very fresh and delicious.Only downside is we had to look for any wait staff, ask for everything and wait , wait and wait !For the prices they change, should be receiving better service!
Came here with my family and really enjoyed all the seafood! Portions are huge. We started off with two dozen oysters (so fresh and flavorful). My brother and I shared the Alaskan king crab and crab sampler. The crab was fantastic, and we shared quite a big with our family since it was so much food!! The rest of my family shared the seafood pasta and appetizer sampler, which all 6 of them finished together. It was plenty of food for sure!! My family has a huge appetite and we had a hard time towards the end finishing everything!! This place is super fun to come to as a family. Service was great as well.
During our 4 night stay in the Hollywood area we drove to this restaurant and ate there twice. I got the Grouper both times and my wife got the Fried Shrimp - both excellent with large portions at a great price. We didn't get the crab but a lot of people around us did and they were obviously enjoying their meal. Service was great and the drinks very reasonable. It has a large seating area so don't get too discouraged if there is a line. Will definitely go back if we are in the area.
I went with family members (3 adults, 1 teenager and 2 under 10yo boys) we had lunch at their floating building, you hear the airplanes from FLL airport as well as the boats crossing by the restaurant (you feel the waves, similar to a cruise ship) Staff was very attentive, food was exquisite, and prices are above average (worth it).
What a great time! Old time crab house right on a canal. The service was excellent from the bus boys to the wait staff, true pros!. My wife and split a garden salad that was very good fresh vegetables. Then we split an order of Conch fritters. We have only had New England clam fritters before. The conch fritters are smaller and much softer then the clam fritters. They were very tasty and had just the right amount of minced conch. We split an order of garlic Dungeness crabs that were absolutely amazing. The table gets covered in heavy paper, wooden mallet and a really cool plastic picking tool and we dug in. Yes, the oversized plastic bib is a good idea. We took our time and finished the crabs. The amount of garlic was just right, you knew you were eating garlic but it was not overpowering or bitter. By splitting the portions we both had room for house made key lime pie. Without a doubt it was the best key lime pie I have ever had. It was a Monday night and the place was hopping ever meal that went by looked delicious. We will go back the next time we are here for sure! Hopefully they will have local beer on tap by then.
Caution! The kids meal hamburgers slide out of and on the floor extremely easy! 2 of my kids ordered the burger and both ended up the same. My wife and I ordered the “admiral” which comes with a NY Strip steak and another main of your choice. I got the lobster and she got the Alaskan crab legs. All was very good! The other 2 of my kids ordered the ribs. Plenty of food on the kids meals but they expensive, $14 if I remember correctly.
Fast, friendly, helpful service (ask for Clive.) Amazing crab (the Dungeness garlic crab was by far the star.) Yummy and perfectly fried frog legs and 'gator. Fresh house made key lime pie. If you're near FLL, do yourself a favor and stop here. Daily lunch specials until 2:45.
