Food was good and at a decent price. I bought 3 of the fried chicken with rice and peas, 2 drinks for under $20....that's cheaper than McDonald's ....they also give you a lot of food
As far as the food is concerned it’s really good. My only a problem is when I go there for my 30 minute lunch break it always takes them 15 minutes just to give me a cup of soup or plate of food that I previously ordered on the phone. And I’ve also had a couple experiences where the ladies who are absolutely very courteous kind of drag their feet and take their time to serve me my food. I’ve had an experience where the person after me got a small cup of soup before I got a large cup of soup and then I wasn’t given the same packaging that would protect the food once I got it I had to ask for it only to be ignored and have to reach around the counter grab the bag myself and package my own food I really don’t understand why I get treated differently because I’m always courteous to everyone.
Really enjoyed the food here. Had the curry chicken with rice side and chicken patty. Very happy with flavor. The chicken is not boneless but not a problem - very tasty. Def recommend.
Their “mild” Jamaican beef patty is very spicy so beware if you get their spicy version as it will make you sweat. Several of my colleagues are Jamaican and eat here three times/week. If you enjoy this type of food then this is your place, but I didn’t get the feeling that the quality or cleanliness was all that high on the establishments priorities. It is forgettable to be straight forward.
Haven’t been to Island Joe’s in a couple years because I’d moved. I finally got back to the place I basically lived at for 2 years…and they did NOT disappoint.Everyday has a different menu and as tempted as I was to get the curry goat, I went with the jerk chicken…because why not?I just love the food. The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Those rice and peas are fantastic, especially when you get “the bite” with some of that chicken. I also loved the crispiness of the chicken skin. Absolutely delicious. That and a mild beef patty made for a memorable meal, prepared by great people.
What a great find! Service, Quality and price were the BEST. We had the special with 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 slices of bacon. the blueberry pancakes were exceptional. The place was decorated for Christmas above and beyond compared to other places we have been this past Holiday season. they don't serve Cuban sandwiches but the waitress said to go to Sunrise bakery on Davie Blvd. AGAIN a great place. $6.00 for the best Cubano I have ever had!!
The food is amazing and fresh. Every week I come for half a dozen patties and I have to say they are the best I’ve had! The jerk chicken is moist and the flavors are amazing. Highly recommend!
1st and probably last time visiting. They ran out of plantains and veggies which is a staple side, but ok. Rice was not cooked and crunchy. The curry goat was good and tender.
Authentic Jamaican patties. They make them here for other businesses. They also have other traditional items but definitely stop in for the patties.
Love the fried fish and oxtail dinners always love deer hot beef patty in vegetable patties great place very reasonable prices friendly people most Jamaican restaurants don't treat Yankees nice but this one really does always friendly smiling faces
