Best burgers in town. Charm City or Rok Burger don’t hold a candle to this family owned restaurant. What an unbelievably great burger.

Fantastic! Read the reviews and had to visit. Wow! The burgers were fresh and out of this world good. Fires were fresh and yummy. Great food. The owner and her son were so nice. We got a history lesson on the restaurant, which we were very interested. So blessed to have gone to this place as the first restaurant us foodies went to. The only thing bad we went there first. Hard to beat greatness. Thank you, Ms Gilbert, Rich, and Wells. We thoroughly enjoyed everything!

Gilbert's is usually our first stop when we get into town. We have never had a bad meal there. This family-run business excels with personal service, and all employees have bought in to this practice. Not only are the burgers excellent, but the rest of the menu choices offer a great variety. Also, save room for one of the many dessert choices that are showcased along the front counter.
It’s like arriving for lunch at an old friend’s house. I can’t believe I’ve lived downtown for years and it’s the first time I go!We Googled “best burgers in Fort Lauderdale” and this place continuously came up and now we now why they earned the rep!Gilbert was really friendly as soon as we arrived and made our time there feel like we were visiting family.Food: The wings were out of this world! I heard they boil them beforehand and finish cooking them upon ordering which makes them super juicy!! The cheeseburger lives up to expectations and more! But wait… there’s more! They serve wine!!Lastly… their chocolate chip cookie… oh my goodness!!!! They warm it up and it’s a melts in your mouth type of experience! If you haven’t been… better put it on that list!
I came there one time and now I’m a regular every Friday! Best burgers in all of Florida! The burgers are juicy and the taste is amazing! Family run, and everyone is so nice. The key lime pie is also very good! One of my favorite restaurants in all of south Florida! Highly recommend! Blows any burger joint out of the water!
If you like good foods, but no frill, this is the place for you. You order at the counter then take a seat and they bring the food to you. Service was quick and friendly. I had the chicken sandwich and the spouse had the chicken wrap: both of which were very good. A bonus for us was that they had sweet potato fries on the menu.
So this is a family run business - how do I know this? Cause when we walked through the door and it was established that we had never been there before we were told "head over there and my mom will give you the menu"... So we went to where we were told and we were greeted by mom, (her last name IS Gilbert by the way) and then she started telling us about the menu - all Angus in the hamburgers (no fillers), the fin fish has never been frozen and the salad dressings were all made in house. She is PROUD of her restaurant and rightfully so. We had a great meal (two different burgers because we had to try them) and some great waitstaff that kept checking in on us. We will happily come back next time we are in town. Give Gilbert's a try!
