My food was terrible. Been going here for 40 years. Service horrible as well.
We’re flight attendants and come to Carlos and Pepe’s whenever we are in town. They never disappoint.
Be Aware! What a shame. My friends and family have been going to Carols & Pepe for over FOUR decades. I expected more from them on my last visit.Just before heading over there, I checked the website. It clearly showed that Happy Hour was from 5-7. When I arrived I was told there is no happy hour any longer, for 2 years, since Covid first hit. I shared that their website clearly and currently states happy hour.I then asked for a wine list. The bar tender said she did not have one. I ordered a glass of white wine. When I got the tab it said "one golden" $12! What?!Then friends came and one ordered a "golden" margarita. I asked the sever to find out what a glass of wine costs. He said, $9, I asked for the manager. The sever then came back and said a glass of wine, generic, I don't know if it was house, or what brand....was $12.Now, prices are up, etc., etc. But, 1) no updated website. 2) No wine list to determine if I want to spend $12 on one glass of wine.I am disappointed and local, loyal customers should be aware. Sadly, I will not go there again. Another local, South Florida icon down the tubes.

Excellent authentic Mexican dishes, homemade chips & salsa are delicious! Classic Margarita absolutely a ‘classic’!
Look, it's my fault that I ordered the Super Nachos as I didn't read it properly. I was expecting greatness but received maybe 10 corn chips with stuff on top. Hubby had the Red Hot Chicken Quesadilla which was generous with the chicken and very tasty.
I love Mexican food but was so disappointed in the service and food. The food was dripping with grease, which has never happened at a Mexican restaurant. We let the waitress know but she has no explanation. She sent someone else who thought he knew why but did nothing to resolve the issue. Don’t recommend and so disappointed as it was $70 plus for 2 people.
Not sure how anyone comes out of this place not feeling good about everything here…the food, the ambiance, the friendly waiters. If it was a little slow for someone perhaps it’s because they are busy. Top notch classy Mexican restaurant. Definitely coming back next year when in FLL waiter Oscar was so nice.
So disappointed, not once but twice recently. I’ve enjoyed Carlos and Pepe’s for at least 30 years now and always recommend it to visitors but after my last 2 experiences those days are sadly over. Placed a to-go lunch order with them a few weeks ago and was assured TWICE that plastic utensils were in there since they are unavailable at my workplace. Got back to work with just about enough time to eat only to discover no plastic and, of course, nothing they could do about it. Stuff happens but since I had no other options for lunch, that went in the trash and I went hungry with a promise of receiving a call from the manager which never happened. Like I said, stuff happens and especially now when it’s hard to find/keep help so I blew it off and ordered lunch there again today, this time through Door Dash but still a pick-up order. When I arrived I was told that they had not received any online or to-go orders but did offer to make my burrito while I waited which was fine. As they finished preparation I asked them for some extra salsa which comes in a little, tiny plastic maybe 1 oz container, you know, the little plastic cup that holds about a shot. As I went to leave, the person “helping” me, Pedro, said, “That will be $3.30 or $3.35,” I can’t remember exactly because by then my head was spinning in disbelief. After verifying that yes, he actually was trying to charge me 3 bucks and change for a couple of tablespoons of salsa, I told him my money was in the car since I had ordered online so he kindly removed the salsa from the bag. That was it for me and I told him to keep the meal to which he (PEDRO) replied, “Fine and please don’t come back.” Trust me, PP, I won’t!!
Love this restuarant. My husband and I have been going there for 40 years now and the food and drinks are always the same. You can’t go wrong if youlove Mexican food like we do!! The owner is great and the staff isExcellent! Never have to wait a long time for your food. This place is always a good choice.
