My first visit here and it was a pleasant meal. I enjoy being able to sit alongside the river and enjoying a cocktail or bite to eat. Our waitress was very friendly to deal with and patient with some first time visitors. The salmon was tasty and the burger which I didn't get to try looked delicious. Will explore the menu more and try other items next time I am in town.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance. We (party of 4) sat adjacent to the river outside, which was lovely, However, the service was horrendous and unprofessional. Our server was someone who you would find in an upscale restaurant. Appetizer order was omitted, which tainted the evening's experience for all of us. Main courses were served while we still eating our appetizers (hate that!), and we specifically told the server that we wanted our mains served after the appetizers. The mains were put back until we were ready, but they were luke warm after sitting out for some time. When we spoke with the server, he acknowledged the issues, but we got attitude out on top of it. To be honest, it ruined what was supposed to be a nice evening. After contacting the restaurant, all we got was an email asking us to return for another shot. There are many other restaurants in Fort Lauderdale with nice views, better food, and a more professional wait staff. I'd miss this one - I think it's for tourists.
Excellent dinner! It has been over 30 years since I ate here last and still love it. We started off with the passion fruit ceviche- awesome. I had a chicken Cesar salad as I was going to have dessert. My wife had the pan roasted Black Grouper and we loved both of them. She substituted the green beans for Brussel sprouts and they were out of this world. The key lime pie for dinner was great. I wish I had saved enough room for two of them.Staff were very helpful and friendly. Parking was easy as the hotel valet took care of it.
Was looking for a chill night with some good food and drink.... Boathouse at the River fit the bill exactly. The view, food and service made for a great night
Very good food, the prices are reasonable, the wait staff is attentive and friendly, and the view is very nice. What more can you ask for?
Had a great dinner here for 11 people! The covered patio area overlooked the water. The food and service was great!
Our servet Jamar was wonderful. Great atmosphere. Fun place. I highly recommend an easy sunday afternoon that allows you to drink by the water
It was happy hour when we arrived so we started with appetizers—black bean dip and bang bang shrimp, would recommend both. Drink specials too: 50% off . I would have rated higher but it took over 15 minutes before our server even came to the table —other tables around us were already ordering and they had been seated after us…unacceptable in my book!! Great showing of boats/yachts along the river—even had a few visitors (iguanas) stop by :)
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Boathouse. Terrence restaurant manager was delightful! He was so accommodating and had an infectious personality. Top notch service! John our server was also very accommodating, professional and helpful. It started to rain down on our table and he quickly helped move us to a dryer space. The female bartender that night was also very good! unfortunately, we didn't get her name. Thank you guys for a wonderful travel experience! Will definitely be back!
Tried to make a reservation online but it said they were booked, luckily I decided to take my chances with walking in and was able to get seated quickly. The service was fantastic, our server was attentive, quick and made great commentary and conversation. We started with the gator tacos and conch fritters. The tacos tasted like chicken but that’s what I’ve always heard from people who tried gator. The fritters were phenomenal and came with a fantastic arugula salad. For my main I had the grouper - it was wonderfully cooked. Finally for dessert we got the key lime pie and it one of the better ones I’ve had! Happy we made the trip.
