The drinks, the seafood, the service
Service was great. Server was constantly checking on us. We had a couple drinks from the bar and they were good too. Food though wasn't remarkable. I had the pastrami Ruben that was a special for the day. The pastrami they used was definitely cheap, super fatty and stringy. Swiss cheese wasn't event melted and thousand island was put on way too heavy. My wife had what they called a Nashville hot chicken but it was a friend chicken sandwich tossed in tapatio. Um that isn't a Nashville chicken folks. Anyone with a little experience should know the difference. We live close so may give it one more try. Just didn't feel the food
I just had the “street tacos”, actually called fried shrimp tacos. They were delicious. The shrimp were fresh and fried perfectly and the slaw and dressing were very tasty. I happen to like the soft taco shell. I have been back several times and have gotten them each time. The Surf is fun, service is great and staff couldn’t be nicer.
Extremely disappointing in every aspect. First issue was when my friend asked about local beers and/or beers on tap. The server mentioned two beers and she told him she would have the one that he has mentioned that was similar to a lager. Server came back with a Yuengling and said he thought she would like that one instead since the beer he had told her about wasn’t really a lager. Food did arrive fast, but my salad was missing dressing (and I had to ask two people if I could have dressing) and my friends noodle bowl was so over-saturated in sauce that the vegetables and noodles tasted like lean cuisine. She then ordered a salad with shrimp which also came out fast, but she had requested ranch and balsamic dressing. Hers came with only balsamic and as she was finishing her last bite of salad the server came running out with the ranch and said “I hope I’m not too late with your dressing.” We both ordered a large salad, unfortunately the amount of vegetables was enough to feed a 6 year old. On that note, we will not be back.
We got the loaded tots for an appetizer which were ok (nacho cheese, bacon bits, jalapeños & lettuce). My husband got the fish & chips... again ok, not worth almost $20. I got the gumbo which was also over priced and bland. Margaritas on the rocks were watered down and the beers were warm. Server kept saying they were under staffed, busy, and "it's Friday" but there were plenty servers, food was coming out consistently, and there were only 10 occupied tables with 2-4 people at each. Just not a good experience amongst others we've had here. We keep giving it another shot and then we're disappointed again. Don't see us going back which is too bad with the location and outside seating. I'll deal with bad parking and go to Sliders for better food and atmosphere.
WOW! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Anna and Erica went above and beyond to make sure my wedding reception was exactly what I wanted. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and Anna and Erica made our wedding day so stress free. They truly are the best!!!! :)
It was a pretty long wait, and the new menu isn't nearly as good as the old one. The grilled cheese barely has cheese, but is a wonderful bbq and fried green tomato sandwich. Fish platter has one small filet. Not exactly a platter. I'd give them less, but the wait staff and atmosphere make up for management's lack in the food department.
Just spent 7 weeks at Fernandina Beach and went there multiple times. We can hardly wait to get back there next January. The food was great and so was the entertainment. Maggie was an outstanding server too.
I love this place! Karaoke/line dancing nights are super fun and have great energy. The food is tasty, there are solid island drinks, and everyone who works there is super nice!
We got a table immediately, a very friendly waitress who served our drink very quickly, took our order and served us right away! Very cool place and tasty food and drinks! Ten out of ten!
