I don’t need fancy, I just need good crabs! Well have I got a place for you! The Hidden Crab is set back and yup it’s a bit hidden. Prices are right and the crabs are always delicious. Service is always good. And they have a beautiful view outside, right in the water! Sometimes when they are busy it runs slow but that just means more time for another drink my friend! So cheers! Get to cracking them crabs! ?
The hidden crab is really hidden behind a gas station so we drive passed the place twice, but we found it. One of few or only place on Amelia island that has crawfish! It’s not Cajun crawfish, but their own recipe. This is a place you probably don’t bring your first date, but girlfriend or wife who doesn’t mind get hands dirty eating crab, shrimp, and crawfish. Friendly staffs and full bar and won’t break your bank eating seafood
Went a few months ago and had the blandest low country boil I've ever had. Service was very slow as well and there were only a few tables of customers. Since I'd heard good things about this place from several people I decided to give them another try.Second chance was a failure. The country fried steak seemed to be a prepackaged frozen patty with brown gravy dumped on top. Way too much salt was the only flavor. Green beans were bland. Cole slaw was awful. The chicken my wife ordered had no flavor and the Mac and cheese was worse than boxed Kraft. Service was a bit slow again. But the place was busy and only seemed to have one server.There won't be a third chance.
2nd time here … first time was amazing … this time worse experience ever ….. our waitress Kamryn was horrible … brought me a hot glass of wine …asked her questions bout food all she could say is oh i don’t know …. then she comes back to the table to tell us she forgot bout us ….wow ….. we finally got food an hour later … she asked if we need anything asked for extra plate and ranch and more water … never got .. she comes back 25 min later asking if we needed anything … no hun we are done ! please just bring us the check and a box .. she brings the check and forgets the box … definitely recommend more training of your staff .. never tell your table you forgot bout them and then to proceed to continually forget everything they have asked for … praise her for being out working but don’t think it’s her element …won’t be back !
This is the place for some delicious seafood. It is Hidden but one of the best keep secrets in Fernandina. The waiter Luke was on point along with thr bartender (we loved her bunny ears). This place has great service and prices. We even meet a local name Bob on our way out the door. The #5 low crab boil is what we ordered. Crab legs, shrimp,corn and sausage. They are not stingy in there portions. I keep eating and eating and never seam to hit the bottom and the tea is so good. We will be back to this hidden gem.
Went to the Hidden Crab tonight for the low country boil. ??Everything was terrific, cooked just right. The basket of fried pickles?? for $8 were some of the best we've had. Lightly battered and not greasy at all! Service was great too. Would highly recommend the Hidden Crab! ???
Love this hidden jem. It's so busy on the island its hard to get into a restuarant.This place always has a seats open. The service is good. We'll worth stopping in. They have an outside deck you can bring your dog.
Very relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was priced good. The taste of the food was delicious. No need to wait to be seated, you find your own seat. My first ever boil was fantastic!
We enjoyed the 3 piece fried chicken (it's kind of blend between grandmas southern fried chicken and restaurant fried chicken) my daughter enjoyed her fried chicken sandwich (nice large piece of chicken breast), good Mac and cheese, good french fries, the mashed potatoes could have been creamier but I will definitely recommend this place and be going back.
The turnip greens came from a can and had all the love put into of a potted plant. The processed biscuits with margarine is a further kick in my Southern teeth. The server was rather pleasant and commodious. Get the fried chicken as blue crabs are not on offer which is absurdly curious considering the namesake !
